Ways of Celebrating

I am eager to know how different people, cultures , countries celebrate a special outdoor occassion. For example in my country we celebrate the feast of patron saints in a particular manner. those who are interested in this please tell me as I can share some pictures. These consists of outdoor celebrations including band marches in a unique atmosphere, artistic wooden decorations in streets, lighting in streets, houses are decorated for the occassion and this will be for a whole week reaching the climax on sunday. These celebrations are organised by social clubs within villages and are regulated by the arcbishops. The two parts have been through disagreement on the way celebrations are held as the church says that sometime are a pagan style. I haven't seen any similar celebrations in other countries through the net. If someone will get through something like this please just let me know.
