If you write an eBook, how much are you selling it and how many pages is the average for an eBook?

I sell copies of one of my books as an eBook on Amazon DTP at a cost of about $2-3 US dollars each. My books are generally around 500 pages long, but I am having difficulty as a self-published author to sell my work because people tend to buy those eBooks which are written by famour authors.
For me, 500 pages equates to about 120,000 words, so a fairly large novel. I enjoy writing and I want to give the reader value for money.

Ebooks can be any length. There's no such thing as an average length because different subjects require different development. They range all the way from short articles to full-length novels. The price should be a reflection of the value and the length of the book. Since they can be published without any expense, people who are familiar with ebooks will expect them to be cheaper than print books.
