I think peace at any cost is too expensive.

I am the most peaceful, peace loving person you could ever meet. When during my second year in Secondary school I lost my air trigger temper with a girl who had been teasing me all day. All she did in that moment was give me one push, and that was it. The next thing I knew some of my class mates were pulling me off of her where I had been banging her head on the tennis table. A couple of days later I beat up my big sister whom I love very much. The realization of how overcome I become when I allow my temper to overtake me sobered me to the point where I learn to control my temper, in the eighteen years or so that has gone by I can definitely say I have never found myself in another physical altercation. All this, added to the fact that I am a Christian today causes me to work to keep the peace. However in light of the recent events I wonder if God gave e a fighting spirit because he knew I'd need it. Because of the control I practice I find myself slow to react and often with the short end of the stick. I begin to think as long as I keep my temper in check I should be able to express my anger. I am tired of the short end of the stick!!! What do you think? Is peace at any cost the way we ought to live, considering that there are never a shortage of persons ready to step on those who don't fight back?

War has many casualties and peace will also. So if we envisage a peaceful world then we must safeguard our peace no matter what the price. If we believe in God then we know that this life is a test. The real life is in the future. Will we be a casualty of peace or a casualty of war? We must make and will be forced to make that choice. Jesus paid with his life. We might also have to? 1 Timothy 6:19 "so that they may take hold of the life that is truly life."

The all is fair in love and war does not apply to me. I try to remove all negativity in my life and encircle my thoughts with positivity. I am by no means perfect, so I strive daily to control my feelings. The power of prayer is very helpful and comforting for me.

Without God I am not sure I'd have been able to hold my peace for so long.
