There are many times I've clicked and opened a YouTube video only to find out it is blocked in my country. It is just annoying since they let it appear on the search results and related videos when in fact it is already blocked in my country. There are so many videos in Youtube protected by copyright but I can't still understand why they block it on some selected countries? Any idea or opinion about it?

I can understand Communist countries blocking a YouTube video because it was against their ideology or wanted to show the truth about the conditions there. I could also understand that maybe in your country, it might have been against the Roman Catholic morals or it could be against what your president wants. Maybe if you could give me the title or whatever, I can find out. I know with copyright that one cannot download and saved it for sale. Kind of hard for those who want to look at them on our Iphone.

I live in the Philippines. I was searching for the Mask of Zorro original soundtrack with the title "I want to spend my lifetime loving you" but every original copy of the video was blocked. It says on the video, "This video contains content from Sony Music Entertainment, who has blocked it in your country on copyright grounds."

I suppose you have to wait until the copyright runs out. It could be that laws on copyright are a bit different then other here in North America. I wonder it has to do with when the movie will be released on DVd there in the Philippines. I know that if the movie has not been seen in a country or a continent, and you cannot play it if you got it from someplace else, then it would not be right for anyone to download it from Youtube if no one can go into the store and buy the Dvd for that region.

Hello! I know exactly what do you feel. I've been thinking about that, I've seen that some of the VEVO videos are blocked also in my country. Like example - Sara Bareilles - "Bottle it Up". I would like to watch this music video, but I can't. Does even anyone know, why are they blocking these videos? Is it like the music video "owners" dont want to share with these countries or what? Can anybody tell me that? And sorry for my bad english, I hope it's Ok :)

Have you tried other sites to open Youtube? They call it proxy. Sometimes I use http://vtunnel.com/ to open blocked Youtube videos.

I think you are still lucky to access Youtube and see some videos from it. Here our government blocks Youtube and we can't even access to it. I don't like it at all. Because I think we have the judgment to see any videos. I don't need others to tell me what we shall or shall not see. I love China

I feel annoyed as well when I encounter this error.. Most of the videos blocked are usually the high-def (vevo) ones especially for official music videos or movie trailers. I don't know why they do that, I hope youtube would also filter the videos that you can view because it's really annoying to encounter errors like this. It doesn't make any sense..

Yep, it's better if they do not show the links as search results or for them to appear on the related videos if it is not really for the current user. We as users can appreciate it more if they do that.

I guess we should consider some culture differences, in my opinion its bescause some countries are conservative as for their practice. all people can access youtube esily and i guess they Youtube are making some ways to help us be more safe in videos that we watch. specially for the little ones.. just based on my own point of view..

I feel frustrated when I want to watch certain videos and they're blocked. I understand that there are certain copyright laws but I hope they would allow international YouTube users to see their videos. There are certain videos that I would like to watch but it's only through YouTube that I can see them. When that "blocked" message appears, it's so annoying. I mean, wouldn't they want to have a bigger audience?

I am annoyed by that message too. Almost every time i think i found a really interesting movie on youtube i get that message. It is very annoying. If they block the video, they shouldn't let us see it in search too, because this way we only feel bad because we know it exists but we can't do anything to see it. Is very bad from them to do this to us. But what can we do? Nothing. We have to live with it

Its bad to block the youtube on some countries because youtube is like a social networking site where you can get current news and events.
