Hi akn - I too come from your culture. When we are young, we undergo a gamut of emotions regarding our parents, like love, anger, and annoyance at others for treating them bad (as if we could do anything about it), gratefulness, etc. As we grow older, we realize they are as human as we are. When disappointments are a bit too much - it does become a bit difficult to give the regard to them as they are entitled to according to our culture. Nevertheless, somewhere deep down inside, we know that there cannot be anybody else who would love us as much. So the longer they live, the longer we have that soldier for us against the world. That realization keeps some of us sane and makes us adjust to what has gone wrong with our lives.

its not about culture....
parets are always above god...
they did everything for us... when we grow then only we came to know about god..
but what before that...
its our parents...
so parents are always above god...
