Internet scares me

Internet is something which you can obtain alot of informations including research, shopping, entertainment, extra income.. however do you realise the risks and danger you get while using internet? I bought my computer last year and last month my computer was broken due to virus infection.
It took me a month to repair and do alot of expenses to get my pc working. Now i am trying to understand where my pc got viruses so that i can stop going to that website. I only know i visited these websites everyday: youtube, mylot,paid2click,.. do you think we catch viruses from downloading videos on youtube, or can we get viruses by clicking on ptc ads?

I do not think there is a virus attached to the videos you watched from Youtube.
Do you install any security applications, such as antivirus or anti-spyware? I recommend you install it, and update regularly.
The cause of the virus infection can also be from USB flash drive. Do you remember ever letting someone using your computer and plug a flash drive there?
So, that's from my point of view.

I am agree with you ,once someone use my computer to download something to her flash drive and then,I cound not open the web .if without the help from my brother I would waste a lot of money .So never allow someone use you computer,especially plug a flash drive that may have virus in it .

I use the internet all the time, every day. Internet has become the information highway these days, and as you say, it is an excellent place for research and finding useful information. There is the risk of virus infections from time to time, coming in different ways. I have to have virus protection programs to protect from those virus attacks. Norton is one good virus protection prgram. There are other programs too.

Hey how do you say that internet really scares you.. I think.. Internet is really a good thing.. which person used for their daily needs.. and also everything are available on internet.. sometimes i find many good things which i really need.. so i never think that internet is unsafe..

You can get viruses if you download video, software even picture. Nowadays there are so many mad people who like to create or produce viruses. And new viruses are born almost every minutes. If you want to detect all kind of viruses, I think you might need to install all kind of antiviruses software, because some antiviruses software can detect certain type of viruses but other will be able to detect the other type of viruses. The good way to prevent is not to download anything from the internet. But this is almost impossible. So what you need to do is only download from the site you believe is safe...or check before you download

Well, It's dangerous EVEN to cross a busy street if, you don't follow certain rules. As you follow pedestrian safety rules to cross a road similarly you should also take care to safeguard your laptop or PC. Install a good internet security suite..."suite" here refers to a set of protection software bundled together into one software which would provide your laptop or desktop, total security. Your case kind of reminds me of that one funny quote that goes like this " a guy was so frightened reading an article on smoking causing cancer that he decided to stop reading"...got the point?

I think it's because of the videos you downloaded. Even if we have an anti-virus we can't assure that our pc is safe. Everyday the virus is updating so you must also update your anti-virus everyday to avoid that kind of incident that happened to you.
