Writing A book

Hi, everyone. I just wrote a book on the paranormal and had it published. Now, I'm trying to get it out to the public. I don't know too much about marketing or selling, but I was hoping that someone could give me some advice and ideas on how to get my book noticed. If you have any suggestions, I sure would appreciate it. I have a blog that introduces it also, but still the problem is getting people to read it. I also have a website. One big obstacle that I have in my way, as I know that alot of people have, is that I don't have a lot of money for advertising. Some are really too expensive. I know that it won't be easy and that it may take time, but I'm willing to learn.

Sorry, that it's taken me so long to write. I tried a few ways of publishing my book. Many publishers are expensive and don't look at the welfare of your book. So, vanity publishing, is not the way to go. Self publishing is more like a business. I did have my first book published this way, but it was for just a few to give out to my family and friends. This type of publishing can also get expensive, but the rewards are huge. A lot of hard work, but the rights to your book stays yours and so, does the profits (once they start coming in). There are a few sites on the internet that will publish your book "free." Which means that they will publish your book, handle it and do some marketing, but they get a huge part of the profit of each book sold. These sites are; wordclay, publishamerica, iuniverse, lulu. I'm sure that there are others, but choose the one that best fits your needs. I hope that this is helpful to you and good luck.

I think you can contact people from Amazon who are good in selling books. Similarly you can try from sources as abe books and the like. You will have to approach a marketplace for books to get publicity.

I'm not too much help by way of self publishing or self advertizing a book...but I DO know that one step may be by using Amazon Kindle ? The Kindle publishing of Amazon. You create a membership, for free then you upload your book to the site for free...and THEY sell it to Kindle owners. You choose how much you wish to be paid and Amazon takes care of it. You get a royalty for each purchase you have. It's not exactly what you were asking but it may be a step in the right direction. In future you can advertize your published book as having sold 'so many' copies on Amazon... Food for thought and I wish you the greatest luck! And the best of success! Oh and I happened to come across Amazon Kindle publishing when I found a headline that read, "Author makes a million in 6 months using Amazon Kindle" lol... I read the article and checked it out myself. I do have a membership just no book yet LOL You are all ready a HUGE step ahead of me!
