How long have you been sitting at your computer?

Most of us have had the experience of being at our computer and suddenly realizing that quite some time has gone by with no more physical activity than the movement of our fingers and arms. It is at this point that we should realize that the best thing for us to do would be to stand up and move around.
Why is it that we get so engrossed in what we are doing that we forget that our muscles need stimulation and our blood needs to circulate? Is it that we are that unmotivated to take care of our bodies and give them the activity that they need to sustain our lives? Or is it that we just need to make that one more click or read that one more email or visit that one more site?
So to combat this lack of activity on our parts I resolve to give you reminders that it is time to get up and take a stretch. As often as I think of it after at least one hour has gone by I will make an interesting post here to get you moving. If anyone notices that more than an hour goes by and there has been no post from me, feel free to make a post of your own.
I look forward to increased health and increased attention to following through from this little experiment.

Yes excess of everything is bad. However sometime we have to sit for a long time, specially if your job nature is computer related, similar to mine. I am Sub Inspector in my State Police and have been posted in Information Technology Cell at my State Police Headquarters. I have to sit a lot in connection with a new project Crime Criminal Tracking Network and Systems which we are going to introduce in our Policing systems throughout my country. However I will request you to provide some tips to save me from fatigue.
