How would I go about getting my own internet service? Without going through a provider. Tired of the net going down, or just being frikin slow. I want my own internet, so I can handle it, instead of waiting for some slackers to get it going. So tell me what I need.

I think you may connect to internet through your mobile also. But as you say you never want to go to provider then I want to say it is not possible because if you really want an internet connection then you must go to internet provider for getting a connection. Even if you connected to your mobile for internet and when any problem comes then you may contact to its service provider for getting solutions.
