According to Jeremiah 31:29-30 In those days people will no longer say, The fathers have eaten sour grapes, and the childrens teeth are set on edge.Instead, everyone will die for his own sin; whoever eats sour grapes- his own teeth will be set on edge." It is very clear that there is no more generational curse if a person is born again. But why is it that there are many theologians still believe its existence?

It does exist. Although for one who's been born again, it is now BROKEN because s/he's entered into this new relationship with God - from darkness into light, right? Otherwise, it would make Jesus' life a moot point. The Bible says He came to destroy the works of the evil one, thus anyone who's accepted His gift of redemption has been saved from these curses. This is how I was taught as a young Christian, yet like you, I hear others teach about generational curses still being present in Christian's lives. All I can say is, each one of us must study the Word better to get God's intended meaning. I personally believe the former; the only other reason why curses are still active in one's life would be either the person's not having been converted in the first place, or have un-surrendered (and/or incompletely surrendered) lives, and thus enabling evil to enter back in.

I absolutely believe in generational curses. I have seen proof of them... My sister-in-law suffers with depression, and so does her father, although she hasn't seen him for most of her life because he left when she was younger. So she wouldn't have "caught it" from him (with regards to frame of mind). Read "The Bondage Breaker" by Niel T. Anderson. We as believers are not subject to generational curses, but if there is an unbeliever in the family they will definitely be susceptible. But, we as believers, ARE susceptible to deception from the enemy, so we still need to be ware, and "put on the armor of God". (Acts 17:11)
