I would love to help, I always try cooking something different :) Because then nobody can tell me if I cooked something which doesnt taste as it is suppoesed too. Before I come with some suggestions I would like to know if there is something that your family dislike and would never eat... Like No pork, chilli, brocoli etc?

They will eat about anything. I can't think of anything they don't really like accept its hard to get them to eat their vegtables. We just got a hog processed so we do have lots of pork in the freezer. Last week I tried something new I seen on Man vs. food it turned out really good it was called Irish Nachos they sliced potatoes and they fried them and then topped them with cheese and hamburger and put them in the oven and then put diced tomatoes onions and jalepenos on top THey loved it. They said it was a must do again. As the kids were growing up we did what we call Once in a life time every once in awhile and thats where you just start throwing things together and see what you come up with. Once in a life times because you never remember everything you put in it. It was always fun !!

Ahh once in a life sounds like a dangerous thing to do...
I find Lasagne a very easy food to cook and then I always add extra vegetables in it like sliced carrots or leek :P yum... The same I do when I make bolognese sauce - add carrots, sweet corn and other things.
I never liked potatoes alot but when I cut them into halves, put them in a bag with a little of oil + basilicum and shake it, then in the oven for 45 minutes and they are lovely. (about 200C/390 F) They go great with various things of pork, like schnizel, prok steak, ham etc. This can also be done with carrots, they though need shorter time, I would estimate 30min or so, but that needs to be experimentated a little with.
How is it with fish? Salmon in particular? Or chicken? I got a few recipes which doesnt take more than 40min to cook including preparing the food.

I too struggle with making the same things over and over so I tried one of those Betty Crocker Homestlye Bakes they are around 3 dollars at Wal Mart and just add a side vegetable with it and it is fast and easy well hope that helped.

Mccormick has those spices with recipes, you could check some of those out while your at the grocers, see what it calls for and get the things. Seems like those are pretty fun. Then of course now commercials even tell the recipes on some things. Like ranch burgers, a packet of hidden valley ranch, burgers and voila... Then there's a chicken recipe, egg, (I forget what seasoning) and it's like a home made shake and bake.
allrecipes.com is a good site, and of course if you ever wanted to try a recipe from a fast food restauraunt you can usually find knock off's online.

i suggest looking for pasta recipes. pastas are quick and easy. you can also make a lot of variations with them, depending on what your family loves. happy cooking!

hi! I also have the same problem as yours. I'm still learning how to cook and gladly i'm learning. What i did is always search in the internet or read some cookbooks. cooking is not my hobby but ofcourse when it comes to family as a mother is ur thing to do that.
