Recently when i have looked at firefox in the taskmanager, i have notied it is using 500-700mb of RAM. On some occasions it has grown past 2 gig!. Looks like a massive memory leek. Is anybody else experiencing this?

It depends on the application you are running on firefox for example you are watching videos on Youtube then the CPU utilization shoots up including the RAM b'cause it is storing temp files and updating your PC's cache memory side by side. Therefore the more the RAM and more the CPU cores the better off you PC would be,because parallel processing does eat a lot of memory.

Where did you get that info? Doesn't eat that much ram unless you have like 100 tabs opened but it does eat 80% of cpu in my pc from time to time. If you got the info in task bar that's different unit. Anyway this link will help you if you're interested http://kb.mozillazine.org/Memory_Leak
