Had anyone tried mushroom burger?

My daughter ushered me to Mushroom Burger fastfood in Katipunan, fronting Ateneo de Manila University. She made the order and before I knew it, I was munching mushrooms instead of burger patties. And more so, there were weedlike mushrooms in my gulaman drink instead of jello or gelatin. It was an unusual and strange dinner and I told my daughter that this kind of meal will take a lot of getting used to.
The thing is, my daughter and I were just about the only Filipinos in the restaurant. Mostly, the Koreans had made the fastfood their nook. They probably like the taste. And I asked around. The Mushroom Burger is owned by a certain Chinese called Albert Dy. He has a mushroom farm in Tagaytay and the food chain has just another branch is West Triangle. For health buffs and vegetarians, this new fastfood could be a welcome treat. Try it!

Hiya Anon,
Send him all the Information you need to give him to for you to get paid if you sell anything just in case you start up a whole chain of Shops and it could be like that you know. It can happen like Anon says up there above me.
Start with a Delivery Service and a small place and then it could take off from there. The sky is the limit.
Okay this is only about Mushrooms and I just love them.

I like those stuffs actually, Elic. It's always a thrilling feeling everytime I slurp those pearls through a jumbo-sized straw.

Bubble tea? Like the bottoms up they serve at fine dining restaurants? I don't like it, too.

i've tried it but not the branch in katipunan. i've only tried the one in tagaytay since i live just about an hour away from tagaytay. i've only tried it last year though. before, i was really curious about it since all my classmates used to talk about it, but when we would go to tagaytay, we always eat at some fancy place there. so when we were roaming around with my mom on her birthday (while her surprise party is being set up), i made everyone go to mushroom burger since we were running out of places to go to. we all liked the food. my family really loves the lomi there. i don't eat lomi though, so i only eat the burgers. another thing that i like about it is that it's pretty cheap. on my last birthday, that's where i treated my friends. well, we ordered takeout then ate all of our food on our wakeboarding trip. :)

yup, it was in calatagan. it's called lago de oro. have you guys ever seen a love story? you know, the movie with maricel soriano, angelica panganiban and aga muhlach? the wakeboarding scenes were taken there. it costs much more than it does in camsur though. it's 900+ for a half day run. if you're gonna go, try to do it on weekdays. because on weekends, you'd lose so much time lining up.

I think they went to calatagan in Batangas where they went wakeboarding. I already went there and noticed that there is a wakeboarding facility in that place. The wakeboarding facility in calatagan is not as famous as the one in the Camarines Sur. The facility in Calatagan is one of the first wakeboarding facilities in the country before Camsur was known for wakeboarding.

Hi eileen, I have tried the one in Tagaytay when my brother toured us there.
I didn't have any problem at all with the mushrooms. In fact, I loved it!
If a law will be passed forcing people to be vegetarians or mushroom-ians, I would not be having a hard time.

Oh, I'm sorry Elic, I didn't even consider your case. Please accept my apology. Yes, yes, it's true that some people have allergies towards food such as mushrooms, and even soy products, right? They're the main ingredients of a lot of vegan diets.

Yes, mushroom burger is my all-time favorite. My friends and I use to make special trips to Tagaytay to munch on these burgers. I did not grow up eating vegetables and this was one food that got me eating all kinds of vegetables. I have not tasted the gulaman juice laced with mushrooms. I was really glad when I heard that they opened a branch near my place.

The crew told me they do have wi-fi. And I did see two people busy with their laptops. Oh well, the suggestion will be forwarded.

Might be! Even though it's just a stone's throw away from my house, I send my brother instead to get the burger. I don't think they have wi-fi there. Maybe you should also suggest to Mr. Dy to install wi-fi so that students will troop there. You know kids, they will avoid anything that has vegetables in it.

I haven't tried eating there. Where is that exactly? What gate of Ateneo is it closer to or what building is it at? For healthy burgers I usually go to Good Burger in C5 (near House of Minis). They've got great tasting burgers there! BUt I think I will try there in Mushroom Burger, too. I've been planning to eat again in the Katipunan area. I went to Miriam for college and I miss eating in that area. Thanks for the tip!

Katipunan is a student's haven now. The barristers made Kenny Rogers their review center. Sweet Inspirations is a treat. And McDo is open 24/7, with coffee refill till 10 am.
Gosh, where was all these good food when I was in the area panting and hungry. It was just Sweet Haven before and my chums and I couldn't afford the German sausage sandwich with bacon strips!
There is a gasoline station near Miriam now where you can while the time away in case you are early for class.
I will drop by Good Burger in C5. Is it the same as the Wham Burger I see before the U-turn?

Will check it out this afternoon. If I can't find a parking space, I'll order to go. One of those days I just couldn't resist good food.
Great memories you have there, huh! College must have been a time you would want to relive over and over again and cherish the moments in your heart forever.

Ooohhh, I remember when we used to stay at McDo when we didn't have class. My feasibility professor even held his weekly advisory sessions with us at that McDo. Sweet Inspiration is a long-time landmark there. I think they have expanded already. I liked Kamirori. I think it's at the Petron area near De La Estrada now. I remember when the now Bo's Coffee used to be Bun on the Run. I loved the Rum ice cream there. Sigh! The good old days! There were no Starbucks then. Haha!
Wham is in a league of it's own. By far, the best burgers in Manila. For me, at least. Good burger is a very, very close second. It's not on Katipunan Road. It's in the Pasig area of C5, across the street from Tiendesitas and SM Hypermart. Parking is scarce there and they have a tiny dining area (as in 2 tables only). The bun is like pandesal. They only serve either chicken or veggiemeat burgers. But they are good. Try it some time. =)

yeah, i've been eating mushroom burger for a long time now. Everytime we go to Tagaytay, i always asked a stopover at Mushroomburger fastfood, its not a fancy fastfood, looks old, which is what it is... i like their spaghetti. Lots of Filipinos eating there, mostly Filipinos...
sometimes i make my own mushroomburger, i just buy mushrooms at the grocery, sometimes i chopped them and make patties, but most of the time i just steam them, and put on the bun, with veggies, cheese and egg.

ray, the sandwich has mayo, cucumber, and tomato. So it tastes pretty much like an ordinary hamburger.

Hi eileenleyva,
No, I have never try eating just a mushroom burger. I have had mushrooms sauteed and added to the top of my burger, which is delicious, but not the entire burger being meatless.
It is always a brave thing to try new challenges, whether we find them worthwhile or worthless. I know that mushrooms are healthy vegetables therefore, I am sure your body didn't suffer any ill side effects. How did the burger taste? would you ever eat another mushroom burger?
I think I will try a mushroom burger, if I find a restaurant that serves them.

My daughter ordered another burger to go, for her sister. It turned out that my younger daughter and her friends had been frequenting Mushroom Burger for sometime now.

Hello! Ive never tasted burger from this fast food chain but im interested to taste it because i am fond of eating burgers and mushrooms as well, if that's the case that I could enjoy my burger without a guilty feeling of having it, then its perfect for me and every one else, because just like what you said, it tastes like the ordinary burger. Its a good thing that we have an alternative healthier version of the foods that we love to eat but contains not so good ingredients that could harm our health when taken in excess, I'll try those burgers one of this days. Thanks for the info!

Tastes good but not as good as real meat burgers. I am not sure though if those are 100% mushroom? Because I have seen recipes on making mushroom burgers and according to it only 50% is mushroom and another 50% is meat and/or extenders. It will be healthier if they grill it instead of frying it.
I think the one located in West Ave is already closed. Replaced by a Persian restaurant, Kebab something. Great food too, you should try it It was the first time I ate lamb kebab there, is tastes like goat. I prefer their beef instead.

Hi damned, I peeped into my burger before eating and I saw loose mushrooms, not a patty at all. But I have to try the other burgers, too.
Kebab and shawarma are good. I am glad the Filipinos savor different kinds of cuisines as if these viands are our very own. Family and friends keep on introducing some new food every time we meet. My taste had actually become international.

We do not have them here. I have heard of grilling portobello caps instead of meat patties, and I would enjoy them, or any other way. I do not think I would like weedlike mushrooms in my drinks, though.

It actually took me a lot of willpower to munch the weeds. But what is portobello? I do not know what it is.

I think I have been to the Tagaytay Mushroom burger restaurant almost 6 years ago. I don't remember the food but I remember the mushroom displays and the logo. I love mushrooms in general, I would like to try it again when I get a chance.

Come home then. Taal Volcano had a little activity last year but tourists keep on flocking Tagaytay's way. You gotta see Global City in Taguig. Bonifacio High Street is for the nocturnal creatures. The metropolis is finally keeping up with world class standard.

I'm a vegeterian, so I've tried quite a few different meatless burgers.
I don't think I've had a burger that was just mushroom (because I don't really like mushrooms), but I have had a veggie burgers that was chopped up mushrooms and other vegetables that was pretty fabulous.

Me and my friends got curious of the Mushroom Burger located along West Ave. so we decided to try it out. At first I was iffy about eating one because I'm not that adventurous when it comes to food. But when I ate one, I was glad that I gave it a try. It was definitely one of my favorite burgers for sure.

Right beside National Bookstore, in front of the ADMU Gate 1.
