Being a Contributor on Associated Content

Here for the last four weeks, I've been trying to be a contributor on Associated Content. I've had a few of my articles published on the site. But, there have been a few people on there that say they got from cloud 1 to Cloud 8 in two months. Which, at this point, I'm beginning to wonder about. Because, they have been so picky with some of the stuff that I have written. For example, I wrote an article about a winery in my state and submitted it. Then they turned around and rejected it saying there was no mention of state in it. I went back and reedited it and made sure that I put what state it was in. And, they turned around and rejected it again saying there was no mention of state in it. This time around I e-mailed them about it, and even pointed out which paragraph mentioned the state in it. And, they also said I left out or didn't finish my article. Of course, I went back into the article again!!!, and put a finally or in conclusion on my last paragraph.
Has anyone else ever tried to write for this site, and were they real picky with your articles or were you able to write articles and get them published fairly quickly?

So how is it going with this site? Are you happy with the results?

Hello Steinway,
I stoped writing for AC after they removed the opportunities for pageviews for people living outside the US. Since im in the Netherlands it would be more or less the only way I could earn decent amount of money, now I use other sites instead :)

Hi Downwindz, I'm from the Netherland as well and make some money on AC but with a fake account and some blackhat method using somebody in the states. I would like to know which other sites you are using. Now I have to share my assets and it would be great to keep everything. Thanks

I am a happy user of Bukisa to take an example, and im planning to add Triond hubpages to the collection soon :) I just need some sparetime to write some articles ;)

Hey thanks, after I read your post about Triond, I signed up on there. It just bums me out. Because, to write a decent good article, I can spend up to an hour on it, picking on it myself. Then to have someone decline it because they do not want to read it, is downright frustrating!!!

I have been a contributor on AC for over a year now and I really enjoy writing for them. I have had some articles rejected, but usually do to not be original enough content, which I think is sometimes a lousy excuse. I do like the site, but all week I have had problems signing in and being on there. I hope that they fix it soon as I am getting frustrated. Are you writing there now?

Many writers find associatedcontent frustrating because they do not submit quality work. Of course they would reject an article that did not have a ending, such as a conclusion. However they are some what picky on the articles that they choose. If you read the guidelines they list articles that they do not accept.
Associatedcontent is the best site on the web to earn money with. I have made the most money from this site than any other site. There is an option to just publish your content without the editors looking at it. This maybe the best option if your having so much trouble with the editors. They do not offer upfront payment with this option but you still get money for page views.
I hope you stick with the site because it is a really great one. Best of luck to you!

Right now it is up in the air on whether or not I'm going to stick with them. Because, like you said many writers find them frustrating, however, I felt like I did submit quality work, but I really have my doubts on whether or not they actually read it. Because, the state was in the article twice, and if they couldn't see it, then they were blind or didn't want to see it. I felt like I needed to draw them a map. Which is probably why other writers find the site frustrating. You write an article, you take your time with it, proofread it, and they still decline it. You go back, think you got the thing fixed and they still decline it for the same reason as before. So, yeah it does get frustrating, especially when you wonder why they can't see it as plan as day as where the winery is at. Then you come to conclusion that they're just not reading it.

I got my first ever article published in associatedcontent. Thankfully they approved it.
Since I'm outside the US, the only option for me is to post under the "Display Only" category. It says there that I can republish my articles that were published somewhere in the net. I just hope a get a little extra earnings from my articles.
One thing I don't like about associated content is the long wait time before my article is posted. I hope they can be more faster when reviewing articles.

I have been thinking as to whether to join this site or not. So what happened with your article and how is your experience with this site so far?

I've been writing on AC for probably a year now and I think it's a good opportunity. I think it was much better back when I started writing and there were more opportunities to get paid calls and such (most of the calls I see now are just for views). But, all in all, I still write articles there.
Yes, they can be a little picky at times, but once you know what they're looking for it gets a lot easier to just write things and they'll be accepted. I haven't ever had anything like what happened to you, though. I would recommend if it doesn't go through, mention the state of the winery in the title rather than in the body. That should definitely help.
Good luck with your experience at AC!
