I have taken a couple of classes that just don't seem to be of any benefit to my life. Has anyone else ever taken any classes that just seem useless?

I find a class useless when I don't get anything from it, especially if it's something I have previously known, so I seldom have a useless class. I welcome any classes, even those not necessarily or directly affecting my job or activities. And I find it interesting to get new bits of information, something that would make me say: Wow, I never knew that! What I dislike is having a teacher who is so boring he could put you to sleep.

Many teachers only teach one way... There should always be a combination of written, spoken, and visuals to a class and then it should be discussed so that everyone has some understanding of how it works. The math teachers at my high school used to jump between classes to review things so that we had at least two different views of it before a test.. It was wonderful to see two ways of doing things. They also allowed us to switch into the other class if there was a significant increase in our test scores with the other teachers way of teaching... That is a great math program.

i believe there is no classes that is deemed useless unless the person who teaches it and the students are.. i think the most useless class I've been unluckily attended has to be something called e-commerce. the lecturer was always away feeding us with excuse after excuse. his lecture notes is from other lecturers and he even gave me a D for that subject. TOTAL WASTE OF TIME. i'm better off mylotting...

I think what I'm saying is that although every class has a point its useless for some students. Was there any reason for you to have to take an e-commerce class? Was there any reason for me to have to take american musical theater or dance in the pool 101... oh yeah college funded synchronized swimming lovely...

Wooo..curly i have the same experience like yours!i have this one who did not attend class, coming late to class, change the lecture time to whenever she want and giving us us so many excuses (totally behave like a student).i did argue with her but...no use!perhaps she has her own problem need to solved first.at last i decide to learn it by myself~

I have taken music history class. It is probably the most useless class I have ever taken. It's history and if we learn it, it is not likely to happen again, I think that is stupid. I probably can use some of the things I learned on that class on trivia questions but not really since I just cheated on the exams. It's a waste of tuition fee but the good thing is that mine is covered by my scholarship but it is still a waste of money.

I don't believe that general knowledge of this sort is useful. Regular history teaches us about the past and what people have done so that we don't continue to repeat their offenses. It also teaches where we come from. Physical education at least requires us to be active which really is a necessity to our health. Even though I do think that the best PE teachers are the ones who discuss life long fitness with their students and explain why its important. I was just saying that general knowledge about american musical theater is a waste of space in my head.

you're right but being a science student i'm more inclined towards solving puzzles, problems so those seem to be boring for me...not that they're not worthy. Each and every subject has its importance in our day-to-day life.Just that each one of us have different preferences

I think those things are part of what makes us function in society... I would be afraid of the world if we had no history and economics applies to everyone... We all buy things and or sell them and or barter for them. Again history sets a foundation for the life we live and how the government is run. Every social equality we have comes from history.

In the light of useless classes, I have been through them all. I went to The Pennsylvania State University where I always expected to get a great education and never have to deal with useless classes. Well as it turns out my expectations were oh so very wrong. After only a year at the college I was taking courses such as Effective Speech and Fitness Walking. I must say though, the most pointless class that I ever have taken was Professional Wrestling. it was a first year seminar and boy was it a waste of money and credits. Everyone is required to take a first year seminar and that is what I was stuck taking. Needless to say i somehow got an A, but I wasted my time, money, and brain cells.

Every subject or class that has nothing to do with my major is useless. I got to take a lot of subjects that has nothing to do with my major and they are very useless. I hope there are going to be some changes in the educational system that we have here.

Personally to me, art class was the worst useless class. Because, I am perhaps one of the least artistically inclined people in the world. Yet, we were forced to take that class all throughout grade school and junior high(same school, same building). At least I can say that the teacher was good and I had no problems with her. So that is more than I can say for a lot of classes that I can use.
There were a lot of repetitive classes that I found that were a waste of my time. There are only so many times I can take what is pretty much the same English class before I consider it to be a waste of my time. I swear, every English class I took from grades three through about six were about the same, with a slightly different book. At least when I got to grade seven, they were a bit more advanced but I could have stopped taking English in the third grade, returned in the seventh, and missed nothing.

hi caecal!
for me there is no useless class or subject.i welcomed every subject even if i should not have one.i love to learn so i don't really mind.but it consumed my time and money.it could be such a wasteful investment.the educator and the facilities are also the influential factors that could bring the class to useless category.i learned that next time i should find the suitable college or school which can provide better facilities, relevant subjests and teachers for me!so i will not condemn the class as useless later on.
happy mylotting!

I believe that every classes will be useful in one way or the other. You may never know when you can use those learning you had on that subject. I'm sure that if you'll be more open minded and spiritually in tune, there's always a promptings that would tell you to use such lesson from a particular subject which you never thought would help.

Hi,caecal07
I have graduated this year.In my college life,I have taken many classes that seems to be
unuseful. When you use knowledge, you will find you have not enough.I advise you should
learn hard.It is useful.
