I have had a guitar for a while now and have always wanted to learn how to play it. What are some good songs that I would know and are easy to learn?

I really like this song, but I haven't found the right tabs yet.

"I Was Only Joking" was the first song I've learned. Chords that have D, A, G, are the easiest songs to try.

My daughter just got a guitar for Christmas and I was glad that she was interested in playing, but it seems to be something that has gone by the wayside already. She rarely ever plays it and it seems as though it was not a good investment.

In my telugu tradition, there is an instument called Veena(an old instrument).
Guitar is the advancement of veena.
friend, may i know that "how many types of musical instruments are known to you?".
I know little bit that before entering into this field, one should have to know about these, thats why i am asking you.

Try learning " A Horse with no Name" by America, it's a real cool song that can be appreciated by people of all ages, it's very easy because it has only 2 chords, you'll be amazed at your self after you learn how to strum it, it just sounds different.

Try playing Greensleeves. It's a traditional english folk song. Very nice sounding and great for fingerpicking. Theres quite a few chord changes though. However, they are all basic chords and will really get you started.

Try practicing the chords G, D, Em, C. There are a lot of song that you can play with those chords. I am a newbie guitar player and somebody told me that before. You can play many songs with those four chords mixed. You can use youtube for guitar tutorials, too. I'm using youtube since those who knew how to play the guitar are always busy. I'm learning quite fast (i think). =D. You should also practice the songs you like, that way, you will be more motivated to learn. ^^

Wild thing by the kinks is the easiest song to learn, three chords that are very easy to play and switch between - e, a, and d.
Other songs that are pretty easy are mr. Jones by the counting crowes, who will save your soul by jewel, sweet dreams by alice cooper/marilyn Manson. There are some others but I don't know what kind of songs you are trying to learn. Also I don't know if your playing by chords or notes, either way wild thing is not hard especially if your just learning chords.
