We always hear the people say this all the time, better to give than to receive, but we always expect to receive from our loved ones, we expect to get a gift for our birthday, on christmas and on anniversary... it is better to give than to receive, but most of the time we offer nothing to people who obviously needs help, we tend to not give when it is necessary... for you, are you living up to this saying? do you always give?? or most of the time you don't give, and you don't expect to receive anyway?

I ve always had this thing where I always think of others before I think of my self. Yes I live up to mysaying. Yes I need things but I always think of others first. Ite been along time since Ive even waited for something on my birthday or christmas. My main focus is getting others things and if i get something then ok but i care more about others. Like the bible says Give and it will be given unto you good measure press down shaken to gether and run over shall men give unto my bosom. So it is better to give then to receive God says so.

i like to spend time buying a gift, wrapping it carefully and see how the person reacts to the gift.

For me, I feel it is always better to Give than to receive. Many times I will often easily donate something to a Charity, or give to a family who is less fortunate even if that means struggling a little more myself for a bit. I know my husband and I have Full time jobs, and even if they are not the Best, I know there are people out there hurting, especially who have kids. And I look at it this way, give unto others as they give unto you, and you will be richly blessed in the end.

I believe I love giving people something. If there are anything I can do or help, I will be glad to do that. As a human being, to hope for a gift is unavoidable, and it includes me. Sometimes I hope that my love one will give me something in return, it also applies to many aspects of my life (work, job, etc). But, I will do my best not to expect people to give me something. If you hope for something and it won't come, then you won't be disappointed. To expect means to hope for plus actively wishing that it will come true. If something like that happen and we cannot get what we expect, then I believe we will feel pain.

i don't know i'm not sure, i guess i don't keep track of my exact feelings whenever i'm in such a situation, but i know, honestly, i try to give as much as i can.... but of course i have to leave enough for myself, so i don't give away everything, but yeah i try to give ... and not expect anything in return but hopefully, when i'll be the one who's desperate for help, i hope help will come...not necessarily from the same person, but you know, i just hope the good things come back to me when i need them.... for now i'm not really in need of anything badly, so i just keep giving whatever i have in abundance.

I'd rather give and expect nothing in return. The intention behind the giving is what is important. It may come out of pure generosity or simply the person you are giving it to really needs it. I remember a quote that said "When you give it should hurt you, if it doesn't hurt you are not giving at all". Sounds sarcastic but it's true. When you are truly giving, you are giving a part of yourself or something that really matters to you, and it will hurt a bit or even losing all you have. The pain in giving is what most people is avoiding that's why they tend not to give. But the pain is not the end itself, Remember "You reap what you sow" When you give and experience so much pain, it will come back to you as a much greater blessing for you in the future. So if you give to others in return you are giving more to yourself. May this insight help. God Bless.

Modesty aside, I'm more of a giver. But I usually, see to it that when I give or help someone out, she/he is deserving for that gift or help. I also don't expect people to give something back to me, if even they would, I just tell them to pay it forward to another person needing their help. We are here on earth to make each others lives easier.
