Opera is not my favorite browser, but the newly introduced feature called turbo is wonderful. It actually degrades the image quality of the web pages and increases the speed of loading the page. It automatically switches itself off when it gets a good connection speed. So it is created mainly for slow connections. I have been using a net connection with monthly cap and thus I am really saving some usage everyday through it. What about you?

The turbo feature in Opera was introduced about a year ago, so it is not actually a new feature.
Most of the time I do not need the extra speed because I have a broadband connection. Even so there were times when the connection slowed down due to external causes. When the turbo function kicked in there was a noticeable difference in the download speed.
The lower image quality is noticeable only when the image is enlarged, so I think it is not a big issue. If I am not mistaken the idea is copied by another browser developer team.

Hello rosdimy thanks for your input. As the feature is still not available for other browsers, I can still accept the feature as unique, irrespective of the fact you have mentioned about the browser team. I am also having a broadband connection, but with a monthly free usage cap, so its a primary concern for me to control my daily usage actually. It really does not matter for those who are using an unlimited connectivity. It is clear that it can speed up the page loading time noticably when I use it in the peek day time.
Anyways, the image quality actually is decreased to load the page faster as some jpgs and gif files take a lot of time when it is in full quality and large enough though I always love to see the pages loaded with full quality.
I would really like to know about the browser which has the same feature, like any addon for firefox etc.
