Is it a good idea to become a weather forecaster/meteorologist?

I have a friend who is back in school now for this purpose. A lot of math is involved. I mean like Calculus 4 and 5 level. I think certain personalities are cut out for this job. If you are the type that when you walk down the street people say "hey look! It's the weather guy!" Then it is for you.

It seems to me you have to like more then weather to be one. Most are at least somewhat good looking and have a good personality (at least on camera). And if you do, why not, it sounds like a fun job!!
