One day, you are walking on a road. You see a group of aggressive. They are hitting a person cruelly. No one around except you. What will you do?

That is a hard situation but I would not join in because what if we both get beaten. How many of them and how many of us? It depends but I would try to see if anyone is around and seek help or call the police or find some sort of weapon to scare of the group though.

It is fortunate that I've got some martial arts ability under my belt, so perhaps I will do my best to help that person, giving some punches and kicks.

You are really great. I wish I were good at martial arts to held him. But I think that's a bit adventurous, you could be the same fate as him. You were alone.
