Would you accept a semi-arranged marriage?

I make only two assumptions. 1. That your parents love you and only want the best of marriages for you. 2. That you have plenty of chances to go out with the man or woman concerned, to test for yourself whether he/she is the right person for you.

I respect all cultures that follow this rule, but I do not believe anyone can be truly happy in an arranged marriage. Marriage itself is difficult for most, which they have so many compromises and hurdles to overcome, somehow I find that the hurdles would be greater and true happiness is never achieved.

I suppose because of their custom they sort of are content with their ways, personally I am glad that does not exist in my country. But again I respect those that do..

No, I would not want to be semi-arranged into marriage. I would like to meet my own man for myself. :)

No, I wouldn't. Not at all. I am not my parents and they are not me, no matter how well-intended. Nor would I ever date someone as a "prospective husband", either. I would date someone just to date them and see where things go, never specifically with getting married in mind.

actually i don't mind... as long as this is someone i could trust, or the people (example, parents) who pre-arranged this are important people in my life whom i could trust and whom i love.and yes if i truly believe that my parents love me, then i know in my heart that they only want the best for me.... i wouldn't mind a pre arranged or semi arranged marriage AS LONG AS i'm not in love with anyone else, and if I am open to the idea of love / marriage with this particular person i'll be going out with,.

Never,I don't like being caged. You can't find true love in some person your mom and dad found on the street, let alone live with him/her.I can not my life this way,and I suppose my marriage(If there's ever one)will not be set up.

If I was single at the time, I would agree to meet the person and if I found him interesting maybe I would start dating regularly. I wouldn't consider it at all if it was obviously a fix-up.
