How to recover data from HDD crash?

I am so sad. Just yesterday, my laptop's hard disk was crashed after the brown out.
The battery is no longer working that's why I always keep it charged until the incident happened. Is there still a chance to recover my files? I wasn't able to back-up anything.. :(
