Yes my friend overclocked his AMD processor...
AMD is cheaper and slower than intel processor, but he overclocked it and now his computer is like crazzy fast.... so he got much better speed than an intel processor, which costs much cheaper...
Yes overclocking can be dangerous and bad for your computer... even if a single thing goes wrong during the process your computer could get fried ! so be carefull...
It is suggested (if your a first timer that is) to try overclocking on a old processor chip... so even if you mess it up yo dont loose anything...
Overclocking could damage your computer... as every hardware chip installed in your CPU has its own clock speed.. and if one thing is going at crazzy speeds and someother thing is lagging it could mess up your computer preformance and the way it is supposed to be run...
furthermore once a processor has been overclocked the true value of that processor does not remain any longer...
but yes I would like to overclock my computer.

Thank you partner for the explanation, this is not something I would be risking either.

No, my computer should be working at maximum speed and if it doesn't there is a problem.

I haven't overclocked my processor as my motherboard didn't support overclocking.
But yes, i've overclocked my Graphic card by 20%. So now, its working at 120% and gives better performance and visuals in games and high definition movies.
But i'll overclock my next system which might be i7 processor. Its a fun thing to overclock. I've overclocked my friend's Intel dual core processor just by 10% and there was much better improvement in Windows Experience Index. He goes crazy when he saw that his pc is much more faster than it was earlier.
There are few myth in people's mind that overclocking harms the computer. Well that's not really true.
If you follow some careful steps, then its beneficial. Always use better power supply, better cooling and good quality computer hardware. Only processor will not make the difference. Your power supply, RAM, motherboard and even the heat sink to cool the processor also plays a vital role in overclocking.
So, the n00bs in this area should stay away from overclocking as they can damage working things very easily.
And the pros, game on to achieve better and stable clocks.

I haven't overclocked, it's very bad to our computers. CPU has it suitable voltage, if you add a higher voltage, it can be faster, but its life will be shortened fast.
I did see a picture about overclocking, the speed was improved by more than ten times, but the CPU must be cool down by a big piece of ice. Poor computer!
