i dont understand the word friendship. help

this word friendship is putting me in a confusing situation. In my opinion briefly friendship means sharing your feeling and many things with your friends. and you dont expect to gain something in return. Also it is believed age makes no difference in friendship.
However i need your help concerning this situation. I got to know a man two weeks ago, 40 years old. we didnt meet but was talkiing everyday on phone. one day he asked me 2 meet him and he does told me why he want 3 make a friend with younger age. and he promised me not to be afraid as he will not abuse me in any consequences. So trustfully i accept to meeet this man as friand. We went to some places and what i was surprised and shocked, he kissed me. after that i was in a shock. later when i ask him ab ot it and told him he broke his promise, hesaid he did that under circumstances. it exists in friensdhip. So i really dont understand frienship. i also know another person who see frienship this way. so is this friendship ? Can you help?

A definition of friend to me is someone who is there help you when you are in tight situation, a person who will scold you when also needed. A person who will accept you because of what you are and not you have.
Back in your situation, I think some people really do something like that when they saw their "Friend", they kiss or hug them,but, only they are allowed to do it. So in your case I think, the main fault is that that person is over confident and will take advantage when ever he saw one. Another fault here is that because you allow him to kiss you. You have the right to stop him, but you didn't. I think the right think to do, is to talk to him and discuss some your limits for now.

Friendship is a great art. Love has a natural instinct behind it; friendship has no natural instinct behind it.Friendship is something conscious; love is unconscious. Friendship is the purest love. There is a trust, there is no need to dominate the other; there is no need to chain him. I think he just did it as a sign of his friendship for you. There's no age requirement for friendship.

Oh my God! your story sounds so horrible, just don't believe on that old man as he has his dirty old tactics. Friendship is something to do with acceptance for who and what you are despite of the flaws, understanding with respect to the person. You were friends because you have something in common that can relate to each other. You have been good friends because the two of you can easily settle of something. In his case how come he likes to meet other people that are younger to him?

I'm afraid his intention is more than friendship. I would say he's using the term friendship to take advances on you. Be selective in choosing your friends, know the person you want to trust with to avoid such circumstance. God Bless you. ^.^

like my relationship have level.friendship also have level.when you confuse this situation, you should ask yourself,do you really think he is your friend,or just a phone talker. i do not think it is a friendship.just know each other.every's phone is just a habit

from what you have said i think that the person wanted to be friends with you but eventually would want something deeper. i just dont know if what he wants is a serious one or a kind of relationship that doesnt have any commitments at all. better ask him what his intentions are so that you'll know where to stand.

you know for me, friendship is the relationship that all of us we need to have. maybe it is not important as we know , but we need it to have someone who will trust us, care us, accept us for what we are, and most of all who will love us us in the way that we cannot forget.
