I don't know if I believe that everyone will die in 2012 or not. I do however believe there will be catastrophic events that will occur in 2012. My kids want to celebrate Christmas a few days prior to December 21, 2012!!

Actually the date chosen is no accident or random date placement. December 25 falls right in the middle of the Pagan holiday period known as Yule (note the name of the holiday, sound familiar?) A 12 day period (also sound familiar?)honoring the coming of winter and triumph of the Holly King. In the early days of Christianity, it borrowed on many Pagan traditions and attempted (successfully in many cases) to absorb them and the Pagans in to Christianity.

i don't believe it!!! who is mayan? are they god? no they are not!!! god who creates this universe, all in his hand. it is not logic if human know the judgement day or the end of the world, it is god secret. no one or no human will know, when, or how it will happened. but i am sure that it will happened and we don't know if we die that day, next second, minute, hours, week, month, years, century, we will never know. just live your life, pray to him, keep the faith in him. just do the best and god do the rest.

I guess nobody know the answer to this question before Dec 21 2012. The movie showed us catastrophic pictures on that day, which scared me a lot. I wish such pictures would never appear in the real world. If unfortunately the record of Mayan Calendar is true, I'm afraid we have no choice but facing the coming of final day. So why not enjoy our time at present happily?

It is just as valid to say that the world will end on 21 Dec 2012 as it was to say that the world would end on 31 Dec 1999. Both dates represent the end of a cycle in their respective calendars ... and the start of a new cycle.
This topic has been raised so many times in MyLot alone (see here: http://search.mylot.com/search.aspx?t=discussions&k=2012 ) that it is very likely to go the way of many pointless duplicate discussions.

Not actually correct. The Mayan Calender has many dates on it beyond 2012, it mentions dates as far beyond as the 4th millennium in fact. The Mayan Calender no more ends on December 21st, 2012, then ours does every year on December 31st. We then we go out and buy another calender, thus saving the world from destruction for another year, lol. I can also assure you that none of the nonsensical disaster scenarios predicted for that year stack up to actual science. Cripes, I will be so glad when 2013 gets here.

Its just a blind theory/predictions many such predictions had been made in the past and failed miserably.Speaking of solar flare striking and destroying the earth in Dec 2012 ,Such incident had occurred in 1958 which only knocked out the communication lines and nothing else .So rest assured nothings gonna happen.
