It probably is a bug of your firefox version. or maybe one of the installed plugin cause firefox to crash. If the problem is the former one. You could probably update your version or change to another version to get it around. IF the problem is the latter one. Just disable all your plugins and try again.

I have been having the same problem. The newest version of Firefox has a habit of crashing and it is very frustrating when trying to get any work done or watching a movie online. My guess is that they have some kinks in the new version and rather than being an improvement over the previous version, they have messed up with this newer version and actually downgraded us in the reliability department. GRRRRRR Each time it crashes, it sends an error report to Mozilla and they are supposed to fix the problem with updates. So far, though, nothing has happened to improve the reliability. Let us hope that soon they will fix the problem.

I was having similar problems with Firefox and then some. It would close on it's own (crash) and a box would pop up saying it had to be restarted. I found this incredibly frustrating. All was well until I started adding some plug in's for Firefox. This was the latest version before the last one. Since, I have reformatted and reinstalled Firefox woth the latestest version update. So far So good (fingers crossed. I was getting so tired of the lag as well. When I would go to open my Firefox browser, no kidding, it took like 20 minutes. I would have to get onto it extra early in the morning if I wanted to go online before heading out. I was at the point that I was going to ditch Firefox all together but decided to wipe the computer clean and reinstall. I am glad that I did. Perhaps this maybe the solution for you. Let us know what you do and how it is then working for you.

firefox does this when you have too many firefox windows open at the same time, instead of window use tabs and you can have five even running at the same time but two windows of firefox makes it shut down and you have to restart it .so just use firefox and firefox tabs as windows take too much power otherwise.that is irritating but once you remember to use tabs firefox will not close like that.

It is the way Firefox is designed to handle memory. In addition to this are add-ons or plug-ins which are not well designed, thus contributing to a crash. The solution on your part may be to remove any add-ons or plug-ins. If it remains stable then install one add-on, and see what happens. Repeat the process until you find the culprit. We can only hope that the Firefox development team can find a solution to this. Maybe they have to design another browser from scratch. As a note Firefox 1.5 remains in memory even after closing the browser. This means that they have been grappling with the memory issue from early on. In the mean time maybe you should try living with another browser?

I'm really glad you posted this because I have been considering changing to FireFox. My b/f has it on the other computer because he was constantly having trouble with IE. I haven't heard him say anything about it yet...and believe me..he would...but this post makes me want to hold off on changing over. I hope that you find out what you need to know about it and I will keep checking in to see what everyone says. Take care.

Hi, lifeafterdeath09! Yes, I have this problem too. Sometimes firefox can crashed. But firefox has a good data recovery system, so usually what I was doing can be well recovered. The problem is not so serious.

As far as I have experienced with Mozilla Firefox, It will be only restarted if add-ons were intstalled. Besides, if new version was ugraded.
