I came to read a news paper this morning.
And i seemed to be troubled by the content. states that Noynoy will still be in charge even though he is in the US for the UN general Assembly.
The Vice President how ever, reasoned out by Cabinet staff members, purpose only to be visible part of the government. that means, attend ceremonies, giving awards and all social activities and stuff.
It seems that this administration still lack trust to the Vice President. sometimes, i thought and has always wondered; if Binay was head of the DILG, he could have done something better with the hostage fiasco.
I don't know what to think of these dynamic due, if they are that is.
What do you think.Binay isn't been given important responsibilities, nor authority to run the government while Noynoy is away..

Hello there,
I believe that Binay can't really make a full command responsibility unless the President tells him to. but knowing that Noynoy still prefers to take the loop, then bINAY WILL have to wait. although he can contribute through social involvement, like the ones you mentioned. besides, I THINK Binay is a team player, but only if Noynoy learns to trust him.Let us hope for the best and not just see their weaknesses.

Well maybe because they have different ways of running the country. And since they came from a different political party, then this is just normal. but let us not forget that Binay is just a vice president. He's only function is a substitute if ever the President is not around. And for him to have an office in the government, he should be appointed by the President. So the fact that PNoy has not yet given him any position in government, he will remind doing nothing even though he can say many things.

Hmmmmmmm.....
This made me think. because I've read an article (sorry i forgot) that Binay was offered other cabinet positions other than DILG and he refuse it. i think this was also aired by the Media, that some how spark speculations of a misunderstandings with the Noy-BI tandem. I agree with you that he's just the Vice President and only to assume when either the President or Incapacitated.

i would not think of it this way. i would not listen to media on this one. there are a lot more to them, binay and noynoy than we know, more than what media knows and is reporting. i would really hope that media stops this. they are really making an issue of this. can't the president and vice president not talk about this and the handling of the country while they are gone on a trip in private? of course they can!!!

I really do not know about this partnership since Binay is not from within the party that is why he is not given juicy position in the cabinet. I think Noynoy has lots of people to pay for his winning that is why. Well as far as I recall during the time of Cory whenever she goes abroad she never leaves the government in the hands of the VP as well. I think that is why Noy is not keen also to officially assign Binay to be the official caretaker of the government.

Traditionally, presidents are suspicious of their spare tires. It has been very obvious from the very start that Noynoy is trying to distance himself from Binay probably to please Roxas (although I do not why). I think that he and Roxas are trying to block any political connections he can use for 2016. Be that as it may, Noynoy of course has the right to appoint a caretaker he trusts, one who will not grab power while he is away. Sorry but I don't like Binay and so I support Noynoy's decision.
As far as the hostage-taking is concerned, I am not sure if Binay would have done better. I think he would have used the same SWAT team not knowing that these people are ill-equipped and ill-trained. The result would be the same.

That's expected! When I found out about the results a few months ago that Binay won and Noynoy as the president, I already have it in mind that they are not going to work as a team. Filipinos are sometimes stupid cause they dont think long terms. It would have been better if it was Roxas in the position. For sure both would have the same goal for the country.

If that's the case, I think the problem is with Noynoy. Binay is all out to support him as he is very close to his mom. I think he's a true family friend but even during the early days of rule, we can notice Noynoy's indifference to Binay. I think the same as well Binay could be very effective at DILG and he has the potentials too in running a good government should just be given a chance. That's seemed to be the case always presidents seemed to be insecure with their vice presidents.
