I think we just need to condition our mind not to focus thinking about our problems. Prayer, yes, it is very important. What about you?

Well, in general, we just have to bring our attention to something else rather than the heartache. Our mind has the tendency to go back to certain events that has a very high emotional degree. If we let it, that's when we'll feel hurt and hatred, and sometimes we don't know why it is so.

I immediately run to the arms of my God and let Him healed my brokenness. The riches of His love will always be enough, nothing compares to His embrace.

Prayer is important but I think that you can do a couple of other things. One of the things that I do every day is to write a list of things that I have to be grateful for. If you have a bed to sleep on, a pillow to lay your head on, blankets to keep you warm, clothing to wear and food to eat you a lot more than many people in this world have. I always find it hard to think of the things that trouble me as big issues when I focus on how many people don't have the basics that they need to live. Also, get out and get busy. Volunteer for charitable organizations. Learn something that you've always wanted to learn. Just get yourself out and keep yourself busy. It puts things in perspective. Good luck.

i AGREE! why keep on thinking negative when there are many big reason to look up to GOD and say thanks... If we want to live a happy life then it's worth while to think of those good times in our life...in which does remind us that life is still worth living... we see meaning in life despite every pains if we lets ourselves be free from worries that this life will bring along our journey... there's a quote that states" moving on isn't possible unless well stop looking back"

yes prayer is one... but let's not limit ourselves to that... go out, get busy with friends, don't get drunk, it won't cure the heart ache..it only makes it worse.... cry if you must...but later on, make sure you smile. it's normal to feel heartache, we're all human beings and we go through the sad part of life, every now and then....the important thing is, we don't just stop there. we move on. we become better persons. think of solutions to your problems, but never dwell in self pity of misery because of those problems. keep up the fighting spirit and you should succeed.

I find it really hard to be happy if my mind is aching. What I do is to try to avoid dwelling too much on the problems or things that hurt me. I keep my mind busy on things worth spending time. I also pray and I try to look on the positive side always. I believe that there are still so many things that we should be thankful of.
