Dreams and Nightmares

When I feel very tired, stressed out or not feeling good, I tend to have nightmares when I sleep. This occurs especially after I watched something scary like a horror movie. The same thing happens when I watch happy movies and shows, they seem to appear in my dreams. Sometimes after playing a role-playing game and I went to sleep right after playing it, I find myself in that game when I dream. It seems that whatever my eyes saw when I was awake it results into dreams and nightmares for me.

I've got different experience. Believe or not, I may dream something that I do really want to dream. If I want to meet someone or be in certain place, then it will appear in my dream.

There's a term for that kind of dreams. I have those kind of dreams too where I am in control of what's going to happen. When I have nightmares and I'm in a bad situation I just think of a different plot and the nightmare turns out to the way I want it to end.

Nightmares tend to happen a lot of the time for very good reasons. Perhaps I ate something that I did not agree with me. Read or saw something that really stuck with me. Or the stresses of every day life mutated into something rather horrifying to say the very least. Still there are a lot of reasons nightmares happen, but there are sometimes where I am just baffled the reasons why I have these things.
Then again, the realm of dreams and nightmares is something that no one has ever been able to completely figure out. We can guess and guess, until our minds are numb. There are many reasons why we dream the things that we do. Some of them make almost too much sense and some of them make absolutely no sense at all. Still it is a curiosity to think about and one that really is an area of intrigue for me.

yeah a stressful day can equal a bad dream later on. i've found that to be true for me as well. this is especially true when i took some diet pills. yes they reduced the appetite but they also gave me nightmares. i attribute that to the stimulants that were in the diet pills.

yep same here. whenever i have had a stressful day at work, i tend to get nightmares when i sleep that night. also whenever i think too much or worry too much of a problem , the same thing happens for me -- a bad dream or a nightmare. i've come to realize this a few years ago....
