When i start my computer,it restarts automatically continuously 2-.3 times. Sometimes at the middle of starting and sometimes just after it reaches the desktop or at the ending point. Then, when I myself restart the computer pressing the button then the computer starts properly. What is the problem here? Tell me the step by step procedure to solve it please. Why is this happening? There is no virus in my computer.

How do you know there is no virus? What program did you use - and was it run in full scan mode? I would try a whole lot of free spyware/malware/virus programs including the free Trojan Remover...

How long have you had the computer?
From your description it sounds more like a hardware problem. From the many cases that I have dealt with there is a possibility that you may need to replace your hard disk.
The RAM has been mentioned, so I shall not repeat it here, except that a problem with the RAM usually causes a failure to boot up. Nevertheless the possibility should not be disregarded.
If yours is a desktop try ensuring that all physical connections are completely secure. Over time connections can loosen up.

I agree with those posters above. You should ckeck your hardware. There must be overheating somewhere (processor or RAM). Because if the hardware causing the restart problem, the most common one is because of overheating.
Or, perhaps your operating system is infected by virus capable of restarting your computer automatically.
