best bang for the bucks for $750

Best bang at this price point will be an AMD processor custom build computer.
A similar Intel rig at this budget will give less performance and will be less value for money.
So, my advice is go with AMD Phenom X2 processor and other high class component which took it beyond performance level of Intel rig at this budget. As at this budget, you can only get an Intel i3 or low end i5 which is not recommended.

lol liar intel core i5 is better than amd phenom x2 lol man just go get intel dont get amd's processor, but ati's graphics card is better than nvidias.

ah huh...is that so.. :P... friend, just check his budget, its $750. If it would be around $850-1000, then i5 would be a better option but for $750, give Phenom X2 955/965 a shot. It will blow i5(not the costly ones, but lower which will fall in this budget) easily and that's a proven fact.
That's true that i5 is better option but its more costlier than AMD at this moment.
Also,if you opt AMD,then it would be more future proof as AMD boards got USB 3.0 and SATA 3.0(6Gbps) which Intel boards are missing. You will only get a USB 3.0 in Intel board.

Well, I take that back, the best thing I could recommend is my laptop which is a Compaq presario.

All I can tell you is that Acer makes fine machines and I have had NO problems with it.
