Dear Friends, In this world there are many religions existing. Is really God is related to religion or to the Human beings? I am always confused about this? If you have any answer or opinion kindly share with me.
Thanks in advance. Have a good day.

Wanting to know God, our Creator is a very normal, natural thing. Just like a child wants to know their mother an father. We are made to want to know God and live in a way that pleases Him. That is why people that know and serve God are the happiest people. Since there are so many religions shows the desire we have to search for God but also that there is much confusion. So we have to search and reason so that we find the right way to please God who will reward us with eternal life in pleasant surroundings.

If we accept that there is a God, wouldn't it stand to reason that He has a religion that is acceptable to him and that would unify mankind or at least those that want to cooperate in world unity?
We didn't create true religion, we created many false religions. What do you think?

Religions were introduced by some great people to show the right path to human and there is nothing wrong if you follow one truly rather than only getting for advantages.
They always wants to make a person real human. No religion asks to kill innocents and do bad things.

I think religion is necessary. But we should have the broadmindedness to cherish all religions. We can take all the good things from all religions and use them in our lives. God means love.I visit churches and mosques too. I love to watch church prayers too. I love to read all books of all religions too.

Religions are made by men to worship God in his own way. What God wants from man is to obey God and worship God in God's way. Please read the Holy bible. Men will perish because of lack of knowledge. The Holy Bible is God's letter to mankind where you will know the Creator God, Lord and Savior JESUS CHRIST.

Religion is not compulsory. But i think it is better to have a religion. Most of the religion are teaching us similar things. They are only trying to lead us good. The problem is with the people who is misunderstanding religious thought and misguiding people.Believing in some religion and God will surely help us in difficult situation.

I believe religion is the path opted by some group of people to lead their life in a specific and systematic way. But what way this GOD is related to. Is god told to anyone to opt a particular religion. Who made this religion god or human beings?
Thanks for your sharing. Have a great day.

The archeologists and scientists conclude that humans always believed in an existence of a higher power from ages. When we look around us, the creation, is amazing. We cant really give credit to evolution for all these wonders of nature. We do need to realize it that we are also part of creation. We are always grateful towards our parents, coz' they give us everything, just the same way, the creator gave us this very life. So its our duty to always be grateful to him. We need basic moral stands to live our life. We need to depend on some1 for we are humans and helpless. Some things are beyond our control. In short, we need God in every part of our life. Coming to which religion is chosen by God... We have to search for the truth and it will set us free. Not all religions are the same. In fact a few religions encourage wars too. It reminds me of Acts 17:24,25, which states "The God that made the world and all the things in it, does not dwell in hand made temples, neither is he attended to by human hands as if he needed anything, because he himself gives to all persons life and breath and all things." True religion is not just a one-sided effort by man to try and fill a need or certain fear. Rather, since the true God gave man thinking ability and power to reason, it is only logical that he would provide a way for man to come into a a satisfying relationship with him.

In some parts of the world a baby is born and he or she is expected to follow that families religion. In some countries there are several different religions like in Israel there are Jewish people, Islamic people and Christian people. In Northern Ireland there are Protestant people and Catholic people. Those are both Christians of different branches. In the Maldives all local people follow the Islamic faith. If not I have heard the government will not like that and bring them in for questioning. I live in England and here religion isn't compulsory here.

If we read the bible and believe God. Yes, religion is compulsory to every body because don't like anyone to be punish in the lake of fire or God, didn't want any body to be influences by sin and evils...
But not all religion, is for God. We find in the Bible, that set his people and bring them to eternal life...
Have a great day!

I think your not reading well the Bible, my friend. Isn't it, Jesus, say; "in this rock you peter, I will build my church".
Therefor, Jesus, build his own church and that church is a sign of religion. Because people in that day worship God, through our Lord Jesus.
Read again the bible, my friend and try to figure out what religion is all about. Because religion coming from the words "religare" meaning to bind again with God...
Have a nice day!

Hi friend, yes it is there, but i don't think that words are related to religion, i didn't read in bible the word religion. Yes bind again with god but not to the religion. God never said that he created a religion, also Jesus never said that he is god. Friend nice discussion with you, i am pleasure to have comments here regarding this because people should know the fact.

Hi aerous, But i didn't think Jesus told about a religion. He did good to the people, people experienced his miracles. And people followed his path. They trusted Jesus and they have faith on Jesus, and i know whoever trust and follow Jesus they are called Christians. This is the name they kept for their group/followers. This become a religion. Not only Christianity all other religions are formed liked that. Religion is a faith and trust on one particular person. Thanks for your nice sharing. Have a great day.

Religion is simply a set of beliefs. Everyone has some sort of religion, even if that religion is "I don't believe in religion". That right there is a set of beliefs.
Is G-d in the religion? Well he must be somewhere, and only one view can be correct, yes?
You can't say the sky is yellow, and me say the sky is blue, and have us both be right. One, or both of us, has to be wrong.
Someone has to be wrong. I happen to be a Christian. When I read what the Bible says about history, about evil, about pain and suffering, about prophecy, and so on, it makes sense to me. It has the aura of truth in my mind.
Others have a different view, but not all can be correct.

Andy, in religion all can't be right is the "wrong" view, just as in Science all views can't be right is the "right" view. Religion you see is the complement of Science. In Science among several propositions only one or at best a finite number of them are only true propositions. In matters related to God, there are infinitley many statements that could be true without jepardising the main goal: To find Him. Your entry should've stopped at "Others have a different view."..." but not all can be correct" made it a biased view after all. How can then unity be forged out of religion(s)?
If God had wanted the use of "a religion" to reach Him, then as someone has averred above,He would have seen and given a unified path! The very fact that such a thing doesn't exist makes "Religion" a man-made thing that has nothing do with God per se, but in regulating people's lives or at best preparing them with some essentials so that when you are really ready, you will be with God. But then sadly we keep bickering that there must be one right path like in Science!!!!

Well first, everyone is biased. Your view is biased too. The only difference is, I freely admit I'm biased. So yes, my view is biased, and I'm ok with that.
As for what system G-d used to tell people about himself, I think it's important to remember that G-d did not consult his creation, about what method he should use.
Your view is that he should have used a unified path. Well, G-d's view is that he should not, and he's in charge. Feel free to tell him what you think, when you get to meet him.
As for me, logic means that truth can't be twenty different things, and still all be true. The sky is blue, not brown. Water is wet, not dry. G-d is through his Son, Jesus Christ of Nazareth.
"No one comes to the Father, but by me" -Jesus.
Now either he is right, or he is wrong. You can't claim that statement is right, and so is the other guy who says there is some other way. Those two views are mutually exclusive. To claim otherwise is irrational.

Hi Jo.
I feel that in the good old days when many of the religions were evolving, there were no texts like the ones we know today by the names - Constitution, or Legal Documents. People needed some sort of guidance and these texts were used as guidelines.
In today's world, we have the Documents that define how one should live, what society is all about and things like these. But by this time the faith in us on the older texts has become so deep-rooted that it seems we cannot do without religion.
As a personal belief, I feel God is one and there is nothing called religion except one religion for all - Humanity, Love, Peace and Brotherhood - this is the true religion if you want to find God.

not really. religion is not really God itself. religion is only an organization or what you call the congregation you are into. i don't think religion is compulsory. you can have a relationship with God, if you believe him, just by reading the bible or applying it to your life. religion will not save you when the judgment day as what they call it or apocalypse/revelation in the bible. its what you have done when you are still alive that counts not because you are from this religion or that.

Have a good one too.

hey Nice topic.
I think yess everybody needs a religion to follow, The reason I say this is by being born in a certain religion, you have a foundation of that religion which helps you to connect to "GOD", through your spiritual practices.
Don't confuse and mix god with religions. "God and spirituality are above religions". If you have had a chance to read about any saints or spiritually high developed people, you will surely find one thing that they are above religions and have love and respect for all religions.
Religion for us humans is just a "base/foundation" which we have to follow in order to achieve self-realisation. All religions ultimately dissolve when one achieves self-realisation. such a person is then above religions and one with his ownself which is "God".
"Aham brahmasi" geeta says. God is in you, you are the brahman/god. we reach this stage through self-realisation.

Dear friend,
I feel that religion could gather people to better thinking and if that religion advice good to people. I feel religion is needed. It helps isolated individuals or families to unite to certain group with positive intentions. Moreover the religion with positive side is well accepted and needed. It gives people get more knowledge that developes their thinking and their contribution part to society.

Hi Jotomy, All religions are man made and it's not necessary to follow any of them. I believe that we are spiritual beings and we are here to experience life in a physical body. We were not sent here to test us as many seem to think, but we chose to come here. If we would all treat others, and I mean everyone, the way we would like to be treated, there would be no need for organized religion. Life is meant to be lived, to be experienced, and we need to develop love and compassion for all. To find God you must go within, into the silence. You can also recognize him in others for he is present in all life yet most have no idea of his presence. Blessings.

The two ideas are interconnected. God instigated a form of organized worship and also told us how we are to act toward Him and each other. However, He wants us to do these things because we love Him and want to please him, not because we feel that we have to do them.

Honestly man, religion is not compulsory. It is possible to be good and imbibe all those qualities that religions preach[discounting those that could be called prejudicial to that particular religion] to make a person good and useful to society. These could be taught and practiced without recourse to any religious principles. But, this can happen only in a very enlightened society which may yet to become a reality in some distant future.
Religion may be a very artificial way of enforcing disciplined moral behavior - that is without the compass of an enforceable law- like for instance: a principle like "Speak the Truth."
Religion asks you to obey first before questioning. Thereby your thought processes get disciplined even before you got up to understand why it was that you believed a particular statement. You might want to call it conditioning. Well, it is. If that is going to do you good, why not?

Hi GADHISUNU, wow, i have no words to tell you, yes Religion may be a artificial way of enforcing discipline moral behaviour i too agree. For ethical and good life i feel there is no need of religion. But it is very sad to know people are taking advantage of Religion to make money. It is very pathetic one.
Thanks for your very nice response. Have a wonderful day.

I don't think that it is necessary to have religion in our lives to be human beings. However, I think that it is better if we do have set of beliefs because it gives us something to work toward. If we don't have end goals in place, I don't tend to think that our lives would be nearly as successful as they are when we do have end goals in place for our lives. I don't know if I helped to clear things up any for you though.

Hi dora, i too agree that we trust and our beliefs are good and gives us to lead a good and quality life then there is no need of any religion. But to control the people it is very difficult. One way this religion is helping people to follow a good person. Parents will make their children to bound their life to be in a particular path (religion) so that it gives some what peace of mind thinking that their children are growing in well mannered and in good path.
Thanks for your sharing. Have a nice day.

As you do not need a doctor until you are sick similarly you do not need religion unless you are spiritually sick.
