"hello" ...any substitute for the word "hello"

i think "hello" is the mostly using common word nowadays... most of the time all starting with this "hello"... is there any substitute for this ....? Any other word to compete with "hello" in number of time using per day? I think "Assalamu alikum" , which is the work all the muslims always like to start with , is the only word against this "hello" What you think , is it able to talk with our "hello"?
