pedestrians crossing everywhere!!

In my case , i always give preference to pedestrians. I let them go while crossing he road.

I am a pedestrian and i always feel bad whenever i cross the streets in a pedestrian lane and motorist will not even stop or give way. Here in my country, most drivers are ignorant drivers. They are those who got their license without attending a seminar on traffic rules and road courtesies that is why most of them does not even know what those lines on the road mean. Accidents while crossing the pedestrian lane is high and vehicles involved are not only cars but also motorcycles. I have actually seen two accidents already. I have observed that some motorist when they see people crossing the street they accelerate more. I think the government has to intensify their information campaign on traffic rules.

I'm always careful when crossing the street, as we all know some drivers doesn't care much.. Always make eye contacts with drivers near the pedestrian lane. And yeah, would give the right of way to pedestrians, though there's some that looks like they don't care much and would take their time crossing... like they own the street, lolz. But one thing I hate most, J walkers that would suddenly cross the street at night wearing dark clothes! Urrghh... why can't they just wear something lighter so drivers can see them, or at least use the cross walk! ^-^'

I remember hearing many years ago that j-walking was illegal. I try to cross at the pedestrian crosswalks but sometimes its just easier in a different spot so I dont always cross right where I'm supposed to. If a car lets me go I do not dawdle that drives me nuts when people do that. I think its so rude. I run across to get out of their way as fast as I can. That is what my mother taught me to do and that is what I taught my kids to do as well.

i am a law-abiding citizen. even as a pedestrian, i follow rules. it pays to do it. i am not a driver but if i am one, i'll give way to let the pedestrians pass.

In my country, most of the pedestrians are inconsiderate and they take their own sweet time to cross the road. I mean, can't they spare a thought for other people? Some drivers may need to rush somewhere and there are the pedestrians, taking their own sweet time to cross the road. For me, I walk fast as I always want to reach home early.

We live in Hawaii and people walk everywhere here, the problem is that people who drive are always trying to get someplace but they don't always look for pedestrians. There are cross walks and I see a lot of people jay walking, its not a fine here but if you do it you will eventually get hit by a car. Most of the buses travel the main streets but cars tend to go down side streets to avoid traffic.

Here in the US, if you J-walk or don't follow the signs as a pedestrian you get a ticket. But there are still a lot of people who do it. For my safetly, I always follow the rules whenever I can. J walking is too scary here. Also, pedestrians have the right of way as a driver so it's important to let them be first no matter what. As a pedestrian i make sure to say thanks when cars let me go and I make sure to keep eye contact when crossing too..

Hello chiyosan, that's funny, i just came back home from my brothers house. i try to crossed the road in zapote where in a car was coming by, didn't even bother to slow down. luckily i evaDEd and went on another not so big road to crossed to. If morning, i wouldn't mind using the over pass. but it doesn't have night lights. so, tonight i just took the risk again but i was really careful looking for the vehicles.

My behavior as a pedestrian improved a great deal when I started driving. I always wait for the stoplight to give me priority and don't rely much on crosswalks since there are lots of motorists in a hurry out there! As a driver, I give priority when I believe I should ans when I can. I also let the smart#$*$ cross...you know, the ones that don't care where they are and just assume you're going to simply merge and hit a tree just to let them do what they want.
