I think my boss is hampering my growth in current job. I got some offer from other company. Should I change my job just because of some personal issues with my boss. Or should I talk to him and try to sort out things? How it will impact my career in long term if I chose to stay in my current job? Good suggeestion are appreciated!!

First things first. 1. Is your problem only at work - your boss? is everything else okay? 2. If for example, your boss is changed - would you have any other problem, like if you have a new boss would things change for you? If you answered yes to these.. try to ask yourself now: 3. Did you do something that has made your boss dislike you and try to make your life at work miserable? 4. Would you consider doing something for your boss so you could probably turn the tables and make him sort of like you a bit? -- for me though your boss should not make your life miserable because you did something(if there is something). Because he is your boss and he's suppose to act like what a boss does. -- you should probably not consider doing something for your boss, he's the one who should be sensitive enough to see your condition (maybe he is not aware that maybe not only you feels this way towards him) and that would of course reflect on his leadership. For me, when i am no longer comfortable in a place, more so that i will be there for 9 hours the least EVERY single day - it would be a big part of my decision to leave.

Let me tell you my experience. I am working as a marketing manager in UAE. You will not believe this is my 16th job in 9 years. when i started my career i worked for a friendly boss where i worked for 2 and a half years. After that every job i changed i faced the problem of either not having a good boss, got the wrong job or earned less income. I always looke to change my job....but this never helped. i always landed in a similar situation. One fine day i started thinking about myself. I started working with my ful heart. I started liking the job and stopped complaining. Things began to change. "Change the way you look at things and the things you look at will change." Now i am happy....I get all the support, if i cant change anyone in my company, i change my attitude and i have seen myself succeeding.....I know you will also succeed. Just believe in yourself.

If you think that staying in the company doesn't really provide and growth and development in your part, you might as well take the offer from the other company. Perhaps going to another company would enable you to be better then how you were able to perform on the current job you have right now. Pursuing self improvement is always present and its common that employees would resign from their job when a good opportunity would show up. When it comes to loyalty, it depends on how really good the relationship has been between the employees and the company where they work in. If they are properly compensated and given good opportunity to develop themselves, I guess loyalty would really be strong. Just be constant in pursuing things that you think that you deserve (^_^ )

I think that sometimes in life you just have to move on, but with the economy as it is it might not be a smart choice. It is also important to learn to work with people and just be nice and kill the with kindness. If you have already found another job that you like go for it, but do not leave your job until you have another job.
