Is it your habit to fix your bed every morning?

How often do you fix your bed when you wake up?
Or you let your maid to do it?
How do you fix your bed?
When I was in other house I am not fixing my own bed. I am letting my maid to do it for me. I used to it. But now our maid is already in Singapore I am the one who fix my bed but not everyday. Sometimes I am leaving it unfix since I am lazy to do so.

I always tidy the bed after I have showered and dressed except when my wife is still in bed then she does it. We have never had a maid except me. I have sorked as a maid for various ladies and I would say that if you do have a maid then leave it to the maid to do. As a maid I enjoy doing that sort of thing for the ladies I am working for

Sorry about the confusion. I am male but I am a transvestite and I have been professionally trained as a house maid and chamber maid. Don't ask me why I do that I just enjoy it and I know quite a few transvestites who do the same thing.

Oh ok. I just wondering because you said you are maid but then you have your wife.

I let our helper fix it but when it's her day off, I usually fix it myself. I feel uncomfortable lying on a bed that's not made up. It's a weird quirk of mine, my sister and boyfriend tease me about this, but before I sleep, I like the bed clean and straightened out. :)

They tell me that I'm going to sleep on it anyway, and the sheets will get rumpled anyway, so why bother fixing it real nice and arranging the pillows and everything. :)

To me, a bed made with fresh sheets every day and a maid to do it would be the pinnacle of luxury. Of that, I can only dream. Even hospital and nursing home patients don't get that kind of treatment anymore. I was in the hospital for 3 days recently, and the only time I saw fresh sheets put on a bed was after someone was discharged. I was in a military hospital, if that makes any difference.

I make my bed every morning, but I do not change the sheets every day.

I wish I had a maid who made my bed! I make my own because I hate getting into a messy bed at night. If it wasn’t for that fact I would leave it because when you think about it, you’re only going to get in it again and make a mess of it again anyway!

Hey paula I Am like you I hate a messy bed I guess I should have been a nurse...I like the sheets nice and terse and smooth...no crinkles on them...and you know what? that make for a very good night sleep so yes I make my own bed...no one can do it like I do. Hey what was that! you know the saying... you make your bed and you lie in it! well I make sure that my bed is well done and to my liking so I can lie on it!

As of the moment I don't have my maid yet but then she will be coming soon so I am expecting that she will be the one to do it on my own bed.

I agree with that if you leave it then it does not look very neat.

That is what I do, I just leave the blanket all sprawled open. That way, it prevents bugs, like you stated. Also, it is faster to get into bed the next time, and the blanket feels much more comfortable too, because it is all broken into place and soft.

This is the thing that I can't get, how come it will keep the bugs away because the bed is open?

So usually when do you really clean your bedroom and fix your bed?

I used to make my bed every morning. It always gave me a sense of accomplishment by making things neat from the moment I awoke. I really like the feeling of a made bed in the morning, but I rarely do it anymore. I suppose when I get things more organized in my house and with my job then I might get into a routine where I remember to do it.

Well, right now I deliver newspapers at 3 am and I usually come home and go to sleep until noon. After I wake up, I rush around to get everything else done that I need to for the day. There's just not enough time and I'm not very motivated to squeeze it in yet. I'm quitting my paper route in two weeks though, so after that I'll probably start up again! Yay!

Why is it that it is already rarely to do it anymore?

I try to fix my bed everyday. But, when I woke up really late and have to show up early at work, I leave the bed as is. Luckily, our tropical weather allows me to sleep without much accessories - just pillows and a bed sheet, no comforters, thick blankets or whatever, so it's pretty easy to manage.

we don't have a maid here and i fix it the way i want it look neat and not messy.it is easy and simple thing to do.we will get used when we start doing it everyday.we will get lazy easily if every thing get done by someone else..hehe..

It is a good advise and it is actually true that you will be lazy because it is done by the other people. Nice to hear that it is already you're routine to fix your bed. That is true it is easy task.

Every time I wake up, it's already a habit for me to fix my bed because I don't want leaving my bed or room in a messy time. depends though if i am rushing then i have to leave it unfixed.

I make my own bed every morning...I do not have a "maid" to do so...but even if I had one...my bed is very private...is my own business and no one have access to it just me...my bedroom is a very private place and no stranger have a right to be there!

What a good security that no other people should be there. So keep up your good work.

Interesting question. My husband and I never make our bed unless we're expecting company. There's really no reason to. Usually it's just us in the house and sometimes we'll even get under the covers during the day to read...really, it would be a big waste of time to keep the bed made. If you think about it, the only reason a person would make a bed would be to feel better about the appearance of a bedroom...which only matters if someone that doesn't live here comes over to visit!
When I was younger I was never forced to keep my bed made...just to keep my room clean. If company was coming over my brother and I were asked to make it, but that was it. That continues to make sense to me today.

I agree with you that the only reason that fixing for bed is to feel better about the appearance of the bedroom but then in my case I believe when I am covering the bed with blanket it will be a pest free. Because sometimes if I won't fix my bed the pest tends to be on my bed that I really have to clean the sheet before I sleep and sometimes I felt so itchy.

Well it is hard to have maid that you can trust and sometimes it is waste for money to have them when they are not doing their job well.

Good thing no one is scolding me when I am not fixing my bed. Unless if we have visitors so my Mom or even my Dad will tell us that we have to fix our bed.

Just like in my case it is already 4:25 PM but still lazy to fix my bed. But since there was a messy on my bed sheet then I have plans for changing it.
