From the mass media and also with our eyes, we know much dishonest behavior existed in our society. For example, businessmen sell fake products to cheat their customers; students copy others'homework or download illicit paper from Internet to cheat their teachers;and even worse, some people produce fake medicine that harm the patients. Seeing our society is filled with so many dishonest phenomnon, I think we should pay more attention to be honest. What do you think about this question?

I strongly believes that it pays to be honest. If you're in the biz, you can fool and earn from a lot of people, but it will never last. But if you are honest, people will patronize your products for long time and your earnings will stay as long as people patronize it. In my online project, I've known a lot of group leaders like me who never pay their workers. They earned from them but after that, their earnings stops after their workers stop working for them too. But as for me, since I never fail in paying my workers, I build up a strong team and a loyal workers that are bringing me commissions everyday. What's more good about it, applicants are keep coming because they heard from my workers how I treat them fairly.

Yeah, I agree with you. Dishonesty has been a serious problem in today's society. For example, when we meet a person calling for help on the street, we don't run to help him/her at first, what we care about is if he/she lies. It's mournful that people dare not help each other. What's wrong with our society? I think it's urgent to pay more attention to be honest.

I think people should be a lot more honest. For me, I find it easy when people tell lies, but it is not that easy to everyone, and some people might get mislead by people who they trust and believe to be telling the truth, when in actual fact they're lying to them.
Trust is key in society, and if we can't trust people, we shouldn't be friends with them, or if it's the media, we shouldn't watch their show or buy their newspaper. A lot of people, young people in particular, are far too easily led by the media, and if something doesn't change soon, they're going to have a completely warped perception of reality.

I agree with you. It is very hard to find a very honest person. Many thinks of themselves and what they would get to the extent that they will tell a lie. But I don't lose my faith and still believe in the goodness of man.
To find honesty, I try my best to start with myself. If they broke my trust, then in the end, it is still good that I am not the one to break it. Then it gives me a chance to forgive them. Forgiving is one act of kindness and doing so would mean I follow what is being taught by Jesus.

I absolutely agree. I have been wracking my brain trying to figure out why in the world there is so much dishonesty.
The only thing that I can think of that makes sense is the sense of entitlement that is bred into people quite unwittingly from their parents and society in general. In each successive generation, the parents want more for their children than they had. They give them everything they could want and these children end up growing into greedy adults. Society teaches us we deserve everything now and to do whatever we can to get what we can to get what we want no matter what.
I remember watching one of those reality shows about some people who were living like the first settlers in America. They made their own house, they grew their own food, they canned, they took care of animals for food. They bought and sold each other their home made goods. They had to depend on each other. No one family could survive without the others. One of the guys said that he has become more honest because of the way they had to survive. If you cheated someone you were affecting their livelihood. If you cheated someone or stole from them, they may not be able to purchase things such as cloth to make quilts and clothes to keep warm in the winter. The whole year long everyone worked for the winter.
Our society in general has made it too easy to cheat and to be dishonest. We don't have to look people in the face we are doing business with; we have computers, we have shops that are corporate owned and the owners don't have to see the people who shop at their place. Many people work for someone else and do not care if the business survives or if the customers are dissatisfied or if someone gets hurt. Hey, there's insurance for that, right?
I have a friend who has been on public assistance because he cannot work. He had such integrity and felt bad about getting the benefits that were not enough for a single person. He did not file taxes because he did not earn the tax money he would get back, so he did his best to live on what he got. Over the course of the years and being around people who were using the system his integrity began to wane, so he thinks. We always talk about what we would do if we won the lottery, and one day he said you know, I never even thought about paying back everything I got over the years. Now he will pay back the system if ever he comes into money, so others who are in need can get what they need when they need it. Doubt he or I would win a big lottery, but at least the thought is there: the money wasn't earned, it truly is not his to keep if he becomes wealthy in some way.

Honestly, definitely, absolutely, precisely, genuinely, of course - a big YES!
In every minute of our life, and seconds...we should pay attention to be honest. Honesty is next to Godliness and cleanliness! Why, because Honesty is being what you are in reality. Thus, it is an action of telling yourself who you are!
I do believe that if we are always honest and true to our self, every thing that we will put into action will be Glorify our God and make it successful.
To gain more friends we should be honest!
"The truth shall set us free!"

Dear friend,
I feel it something vanishing in humans. Even a childern do at times lack this quality. I feel this quality has be given encouragement from school level itself. Much of honest people should honoured well. But still it is found that more people tend to be dishonest and cheat others and enjoy from the tears of others. At times being honest gets into bitter side of life too.

Of course honesty is the best policy but their are many types of lies the white lie you are lying to save someone while the grave sin is the lying by means of deception and trickery that would probably fall the one you mention here. So as a consumer need to be aware of the differences between real and fake since as a meticulous and intelligent customer need to be wise in every decision to make.

I think honesty is the best policy so try always be honest. But I don’t pay attention on this sometime because I think this is not time of to be honest. Mostly people are corrupted. And if you are honest in present time then you face many problems. But I think I don’t acre about this world. And if I will be honest then it is always good for me.

We should pay attention to be honest from the chilhood. The importantance and the out come we should teach. We should explain the dos and dont's in every stage of childhood. Then only we can change the society. But it will take long time.

I think you are absolutely right. The strange thing is I think there is a majority out there that agree with you. Unfortunately we aren't able to translate that into what happens in the media. That is the real issue that we need to solve. How can we get the media to portray news that would truly benefit society. Thanks for the great post.
