So, I consider myself to be a hobbyist when it comes to taking pictures. My favorite subjects are my children, but since I've become very involved in the playgroup that my friend started in the spring, I find that I am frequently taking pictures of the kids in the group as well.
What are your favorite subjects for the photographs that you take? Where do you like to take pictures? If there was one area that you would like to be able to improve in your photography, what would it be? How long have you been taking pictures?

I have found that though my children are my favorite subjects, I do also like to take pictures of nature when I have the opportunity to.

That really is a wonderful action shot. Action photography isn't something that I've given a lot of effort to yet, but something that I would like to give a try in the future.

I just need a better camera. The one I have isn't really good for outdoor photography, which is what I really like to do. I need one with stronger telephoto capabilities for bringing objects in closer.

That is one of the things that I really like about my Rebel, I can get different lenses for whatever need I might have.

I too always take my camera with me when we are going to a special event. However, it is just as likely that I will take my camera with me for an everyday event as well.

I wouldn't really call myself a hobbyist, but I do take pictures of a few of my favorite things. Lately, I've been taking pictures of food when I go to restaurants. Some are just really presented beautifully that they deserve to have their pictures taken. Maybe as a reference and a comparison when I go order the same thing at different restaurants.

Do you know that there is a market for food photographers if the bug should ever happen to hit you? I've taken pictures of food a few times and every time that I do my family makes fun of me.

I have been enjoying photography since high school. I love doing floral/nature photography as well as portraits and doing pictures of our pets. Photography is a beautiful art and if you have the skill and equipment you can make a nice living off of doing it. It takes a good eye for taking pictures but with patience and practice you can save yourself a lot of money in family portraits

I've definitely saved a lot of money in the family portrait arena. I've been taking my own pictures of the kids since my son was born. He has only been to the studio three times in his life and all of those were for Christmas pictures. It is harder for me to take those at home than it is Easter, etc. because I prefer outdoor photography.

Your picture is absolutely stunning. I really like it. I've never had the opportunity to go to Niagara Falls, but my mother was there last month and I'm very jealous of her for it.

I have been taking pictures forever! I am/was a graphic artist . . . I've always had the knack for taking photos. My parents gave me money for my birthday when I was in college so I can get a nifty Canon film camera - so I decided I should take classes on photography to make the most of it!! Well, I took an adult class from The Learning Tree (one of those few week courses). I learned a lot technically. But it seemed no one dared to critique my work - even the instructor said very few words . . . we all mentioned at the beginning of the session why we were there, and I had mentioned I was an artist. It was funny because during our final showing, everyone was quick to point out everyone else's flaws . . . but when it came to my stuff, everyone was silent. ANYHOW - on the improvement part, I'd like to be able to utilize my technical camera skills again sometime - without just using AUTO setting on the digital camera. My favorite subjects are my children as well . . . we can't take enough of them!! I also love taking artsy, nature, scenic, and odd angle type photos. My digital camera goes with me everywhere . . . so there isn't a specific place I like to take photos . . . I just like taking photos to capture the moment wherever we are!

The camera going with you everywhere is actually the reason that I would like to be able to get another point and shoot camera at some point. Anyways, this year for Christmas both of my children are getting their very first digital cameras.

I absolutely adore photoshop. I think that I was hooked on using photoshop before I was really hooked on using a digital camera.
