Does coffee still keeps you awake?

Is coffee still effective to you? I'm not addicted to coffee so it is still effective to me and keeps me awake. But other people are just drinking it like a usual juice drink and doesn't affect them anymore. I only drink coffee when I'm in grave shift duty. How about you?

Actually, I could consider myself a coffee addict. I can take it 3 times a day. And yes it is sometimes not effective to me now as you stated it. But as the other says that it will keep it someone awake, for me it is the opposite. If I'm so much tired and could not sleep, I just take a cup of coffee and it so effective. Hppy mylotting.

For awhile, I became almost immune to coffee's effects, because I was constantly drinking it. I suppose I developed a tolerance for it. Since I gave it up, I only drink it occasionally now. It has a bit of a waking effect for me now but not much. At least I don't get jittery. I've always found it odd when people drink decaffeinated coffee; I always thought that you drink coffee for its caffeine, so drinking decaf defeats the purpose.

No, coffee no longer has effects on me. Just like you said, I drink it like juice (although I do like drink juice as well) It's part of my routine to start my day with a cup of coffee. Then I 'll have it from time to time during the day. I've become sort of caffeine junkie.

Yes, very much so. I use to be a coffee addict and for a while it had no more effect on me. But since it gave me acid reflux, I tried to limit my intake if not totally remove it from my diet. After I did, and on the odd chance that I drink coffee, the caffeine kicks in and keeps me awake for several hours. Of course, it also gives me palpitations ...

I should say I'm addicted to it now that I'm more craving for it every now and then. It's no longer a matter of keeping me awake but when will be my next coffee break will be. I can consume as much as 10 cups a day whether in home or in the office. Eating my breakfast or simply watching TV at night. Coffee is part of my life now and I should say it will be difficult to get rid of it.

I do drink coffee and I'm not addicted to it. But it felt like it doesn't have any effect on me. I regularly drink coffee every Monday because I get sleepy for waking up early so I wouldn't be late for taking the trip from our home to office. It only happens on Mondays because I already stay at the apartment during workdays.
I guess drinking any flavored drink helps me keep awake for a minutes. So its not necessarily coffee that makes me awake. I only prefer it because of its hot temperature that keeps me warm a little. But I'm not the type of someone like who can't sleep anymore just after drinking coffee. I could drink coffee at home while watching movie at night especially when it's raining and I was still able to sleep when I want to after few minutes. -)

I too like coffee but not for the reason you mentioned. Only my will power can keep me awake if I want to.

I have the same issue with Diet Coke. I used to not-drink coffee. I get my caffeine from Diet Coke. I drink it everytime. In the morning, during the day, and even before I go to sleep. The problem is that it doesn't work for me anymore. Even though it has caffeine, I can still go to sleep even if I drank a tank-full.
So lately, I've started drinking coffee. And it keeps me awake so far!

With a regular one? Not anymore. Back in college, I had to use two sachets of instant coffee in one cup just to keep me awake. I cannot do it now because it makes my stomach acidic. What I do no so I can enjoy every sip of it is to decrease the amount of water in half. Mmmm..Yummy!

Coffee helps me a lot with my grave yard shift also as a call center because it keeps me alive and awake. But the side effects of coffee in my own experience is that I feel my heart beats so fast and I get too nervous after a while when I drink it.

I drink two cups of coffee in the morning and every once in a while, I get a cup at one of my favorite coffee shops. I used to be able to drink coffee at any time of day but as I got older I found that if I drank it after 5:00 that it kept me awake.

Nope, not really. I think I have gotten immune to it over the years or something... Maybe I should drink less, but I really love the taste of coffee!
