i don't know why but most of my foreign friends and even my bf say that most Asian people look younger than their age. It is so ironic because most asian people struggle everyday for a better tomorrow. well, i guess more than the caucasians. asia isn't a rich continent so we must work hard for a good living. that means asian people are also stressed out. i wonder whether it's lesser compared to others.

you are right. asians look younger than their age. there may be some factors that i can think of. for example, the food that asians eat may have some influencing in appearing younger. then, there is the hygiene. asians take care of their skin like sunscreen, lotions and other cream. and then just maybe it is in the genes of asians to look younger. that's why i am going to have an asian for a partner.

Your bf is right
Many Asians look younger than their real age, this is true in general, just see my avtar, it was taken very recently, guess how old i am..
It is also true that many look much older than their real age, i have class mates who look 10 years older than me.
Best of luck.

Yep, this is probably true. I think it has to do with genetics, it has nothing to do with lifestyle or culture or anything though. I am totally american but I am 'genetically' asian and I still get carded and I'm about 15 years too old to card. I have a 21 year old, a 19 year old, and a 6 year old. It's kind of frustrating to be thought of as younger than you are, but I suppose it is nice to LOOK younger as long as it's not so much different that people alter their expectations of you.

i agree with your boyfriend! Asians looks younger than their age. I say this because i personally being an Asian people said i look younger than my actual age! One time somebody even commented that i can pass as a college student but the matter of truth is i already passed the dates in the calendar!!!hahaha!

The fact is that the methods of healing gives several reason why Asians look younger that other races.
This is the overview why we Asians especially women look younger and to satisfy you that your bf is correct:
First, is the fat face because some experts believe that Asian look durable easy because of the location of the fat on the different face than the other races.
Second is our skin color, and the last is our face shape.

Dear friend,
I feel it is a part of nature, its climate, food patern, life style and various others aspects. Asian people do look younger it is something I feel that western people appreciate. Moreover I feel that the majority of aged people are also in Asia.

Yes, I noticed that too. While I was back in college, a professor mentioned in passing that Asians look younger than Caucasians because of the climate difference. In Asia, it's more humid so naturally the people sweat, which in turn moisturizes the skin and delays the appearance of fine lines (aging). In Western countries, on the other hand, it is very cold so the people sweat less, thus less "natural" skin moisturization. Haha. I'm not sure if this is scientifically correct but I think that the humidity does contribute to why Asians look younger than their Caucasian counterparts.

i agree with your bf. most asians look younger than their age. i think that caucasians mature faster than asian does. and maybe their way of living attributes to that too. i mean, the way they dress, or style their hair and stuff like that. i mean check out how high school kids in america and compare them to high school kids here in the philippines (i'm not sure about other asian countries though). they'd look so much older than kids here, even if they are the same age.

because Asian are more petite or smaller aside from being of an average height and weight they really look younger than their European and American counterparts. In y case i look more younger than my ages as other think I am still a teenager so that would be a boost to me but i shy away when it comes to asking my age so I really felt behind with my other friends who already settle down.

It has something to do with the color of our skin, geographical location and lifestyle.
Asian has dark colored skin and it is more protected from the sun's UVA while foreigners especially caucasian tends to absorb more heat light from the sun. Sun can cause premature aging of the skin. Also, foreigners are lovers of night lives and parties. They drink more, smoke more, sleep less and usually always in a hurry. Living in their location could be very stressful, too, with all the pressures of works and times you need to deal with in order to survive.
Asians are lucky to have a laid back life whenever we want to.A stress free life is what makes us looks younger.:)

Hi,
We Asians look younger , apart from diet and other things which other writers have expressed, is due to physical activities and nature of lifestyle. stress has just entered, my mother's generation was too good.
we are more into simple living. we still use squat toilets and walk a lot. more of luxury more u r prone to aging.
the climatic conditions also do not expose us to cosmetics as it is used by people in the west.

maybe it's in our genes. :) but true, we look younger than our age. I am even mistaken as 16, while in fact I am 20+ now. We have a happy disposition in life despite our struggles.. and we find time to smile however life can be. And another factor is the way we dress up, we go for the more classic and conservative type, we put less make up.
Asian men are shorter than caucasians, that's why they are mistaken as Highschool students.:) It's ok,we're cute.

I think that this is true because when I met my step-brother's ex-wife for the first time, I seriously thought that she was 18 or 19, and I wanted to shoot my step-brother for bring home such a young woman (my step-brother was in his 40's at the time). Well, I found out that she was in her late 20s, and I couldn't believe it. I told her that there was no way that she was in her late 20s, and she said that she was.
I know a lot of Asians who look way younger than their actual age. In a way it's a good thing, but the down side is that people won't take you seriously, and you are always going to get carded.
