I was watching Earth Wonders last night and the show was talking about Bora Bora. I think it is a wonderful tropical paradise! I would love to visit Bora Bora some day. Has anyone ever been to Bora Bora Lagoon? Is it as nice as the pictures show it to be? I am hoping to travel there someday.

On my way to New Zealand I went to beautiful French Polynesia. It is a very expensive country and I could afford to see a nearby island to where the international airport is. So I went over to Morea Island. The beaches were like paradise. I didn't see any cables and that is usually what a landscape has in it. It would have been a very pricey ferry ride out to Bora Bora. Then if I had gone there the accommodation would have cost a lot. I was happy staying at Morea Island at the camping site. I have been to other destinations that are as lovely as Bora Bora and one of these is Samoa which is in that part of the world but a great deal cheaper. The other place that is as lovely is the Seychelles but it is almost as expensive as French Polynesia. I know you would like the islands in the Maldives. I have been to the Cook Islands and Fiji and they are as special too.

Thank you for your response! You are right, Bora Bora is a bit pricey. I will definitely have to do some research on the Maldives and the Cook Islands. Maybe I will be able to travel there soon.

Impressive is not the word, because I found paradise on earth, a piece of heaven. Quiet, crystal clear water, palm trees, sand, water and tip boxes strung on Motu landscape filled clouds ... couples in love, most of them there on their honeymoon. If you are content to swim in the lagoon including exotic fish and turtles, you can try alternatives offered by the locals. Extremely friendly and cheerful, it gives you truly memorable trips: swimming with sharks (with maximum chances of returning home ...), diving (or snorkeling for beginners) or the incredible adventures in the midst of "awful" big cats. Hard to believe after what happened to "Crocodile Dundee" (Steve Irwin), because it's full of tourists who sweep them, feed them and even take them in my arms. Ocean fishing, local festivals and watersports for those anxious. Of course, the ideal is to do massage in the morning, noon and night on the beach, if you can afford. This is Bora Bora, and already I miss ...
