This Obama supporter spoke out at a recent town hall meeting. I think she represents the mood of the country very well.

A good video, which does sum up the mood, no doubt. Obama's problem is simple - its the economy. Right now, though the recession technically ended in June 2009, so we are told, the fact is that unemployment keeps going up and therefore ordinary Americans don't feel better off, instead they feel worse off - this is precisely what this lady is talking about and hence this is the central cause of her dissatisfaction with Obama. (It should be pointed out that unemployment is always a lagging indicator and frequently keeps on rising for upto 2 years, even when the economy has started growing again. This because the 'slack' caused by a recession needs to tighten before employers start hiring again).
I think one of Obama's mistakes has been that he has not stayed relentlessly focused on the economy - that said, turning an economy round takes time - it is like a supertanker. It doesn't change course instantly, and whatever politicians pretend, ending a recession and getting back into growth and getting that growth to generate jobs so that people feel more secure, also takes time (and very often economic cycles are outside politicians control)
That said, what is now happening re the economy is under Obama's watch. He can, with decreasing success, blame Bush for the state of the economy, but he should be under no illusion. If by November 2012 the economy is not showing clear signs of improvement, which ordinary Americans can feel on the ground, then Obama will likely be toast (I say likely, as of course this lso depends which candidate the Republicans put up for President in 2012)
As of now, the economy is in the tank, Americans are still suffering, they feel worse off and this is a mid term election. And so the party in power will get a battering, the question is how much...

Six weeks to the mid term elections the democrats just may be toast.Tea party candidate Marco Rubio is way ahead in the polls leaving his opponents in the dust. Some people are laughing at the new tea party winner in Delaware but when it comes down to the brass tacks the voters will either vote republican or vote for the tax and spend democrat who is Harry Reid pet. I agree with you the economy sucks all across the board.
