Is the The Message version okay or is it too modern and little far from the original hebrew version?

hi helena_,
I'm not familiar with The Message, but I've found out it's a paraphrase. I'm personally partial to TRANSLATIONS to start. There are good ones out there designed for those new to the Bible or those who have limited language skills. You can check comparisons at http://www.biblestudytools.com/bible-versions/.

i do read King James Version...but whatever version it is...it remains as the Word of God and therefore be ruled by the doctrines

I think you would do well to read through The Message version first. The readability will help you not get disouraged as you learn the over all message of the Bible.
At the same time, I would ask you to remember that The Message is a paraphrase, and not a literal translation. For a literal translation, many would choose NIV (new international version), but I think I would recommend the ESV (English Standard Version).
Hope you can get your hands on the Word and read it. If you ever want to read but do not have your Bible with you, you can find numerous versions of the Bible online.
