Do you believe in Fate?

I find that believing that my life is already mapped out for me, makes me lazy. I think to myself, "well if I was meant to get that job it would have happened" and "it obviously wasn't meant to be!" Am I just foolish to believe that my life has already happened in someway and I'm just following a preset destiny?

Scientifically speaking, everything obeys the laws of physics. One thing causes another thing causes another... and for a long time it was thought that since we are all made up of the same stuff as the rest of the universe, we have as little choice as a ball does to keep rolling once you roll it down a hill. Mathematically speaking, since the beginning of the universe everything has been determined, and a powerful enough computer could discover everything that has ever happened and everything that will happen. However... the more scientists learn about the movements of very small (quantum) particles, the more confused they get. They don't seem to follow any rules we have believed matter must follow. Either they have their own rules, or they have abilities to bend ours. Scientists are not sure whether these uncertain effects can "scale up" to the level of things as big as ourselves. It might be a loophole for freedom of choice in a universe that seems determined by physical laws. In other words, one day we may find out that our lives are completely determined, or we might find out just the opposite; that as conscious beings we can influence change on a quantum level!

No, I don't. To think that my life is predetermined in any way really depresses me. After all, if that was the case, then what is the point of living anyway? So it just causes me to give a slight roll of my eyes, when I hear about fate or destiny. I control my own life, in my hands. It is just that simple, there are really no questions about it at all. For better or for worse, I am going to influence my own decisions, ninety percent of the way, with the other ten percent being people around me indirectly interfering. If I mess up, than it's my fault. I made a huge mistake and now I have to live with the consequences, no matter what they are. So life goes on and my life will go on. Still, its because of my decisions and my ability to pull myself off the ground and adapt to any situations, that will help get me through all of the situations in my life. Still as far as I am concerned, my decisions, for better or for worse, is what is going to shape my life.

this life has been governed by God, but that does not mean you have to give up. God will change your fate if you like trying to change

I believe in Fate. But I also believe myself. We do our own destiny not the fate itself. We are the one who can do what we want. ALl the success and failure is we are the one who made it not the fate.
