What is it standing for ?

Wearing rings in the middle finger nowadays is just a fashion statement but way back in the 16th century, I read that there are symbolism attached on how you were your ring. Wearing rings in the middle finger denotes the wearer as a fool, idiot, stupid, moron etc. That was in the old century, today wearing ring in the middle finger symbolizes individuality, materialism and balance in life.It is also said that people who likes to wear ring in their middle finger likes to be the center of attention.

my country is srilanka..there also many girls wear a ring in the middle finger..but it has no any reason or any meaning..it's only fashion

I am not really sure that a meaning is present for the situation in our country and I like to think of it more as an expression of style, a fashion if you must call it. My thumb wears a ring and I saw in a T.V. episode explaining that in some countries it is a sign of homosexuality, but I'm 100% straight and I wear it as my own style.

i wear a ring in my middle finger sometimes, but it doesn't signify and mean anything to me...i just do it for fashion. i'm not sure with others out there...but my friends say it doesn't mean anything to them as well too.

as far as i know it means nothing.it just the style or trend.i will wear it there too sometimes.but my sister said it means that the girl is single~i don't know.

I wear it on my middle finger but I have no idea what it means in my country or other countries. It just feels balanced when I wear it at that spot. Wearing them on the ring finger signifies a married or engaged woman/man so the middle finger is where I want it to be. Besides, it's much more noticeable on that place.

Well, it doesn't mean that they are married, because if they were married it wouldn't be on the middle finger. In the states, your wedding band, and even you engagement band is on the finger next to the pinky finger, known as the ring finger because you put a ring there. The ring on the middle finger could mean that they are single.

I wear a ring on my left hand’s middle finger as well as a wedding and engagement ring on my other finger. The reason I have a ring on my middle finger is because I was given the ring as a gift and it is the only finger it will fit on! In my country it means nothing in particular.
