Java is really good because they are portable and secured, they can fit from any technologies not just on computer desktops or the internet. Before going to Java and to have more an easy specific understanding on logics and syntaxes, it is much better or might be the best is to have a background from which it came from, primarily on C Programming Language.

C still important until today and to the future of computers. Just like Java, can also be embedded on processors. Without C there are no MS Windows, Linux, Mac OS X, UNIX, iOS of iPhones, iPod Touch, iPad, any applications or games even microwave oven, and so on. Java is from C actually. C is now on 3 decades and still important for computers where other newer language has been already obsolete. But anyway I'm still on the process of learning programming and I started on C. I'm after for UNIX, Objective-C, Cocoa, iOS and so on..... - of course as you know it is obviously Apple stuffs.

yeah, i have background in C...but it's a lot different from Java I'm sure of that, but of course the similarities are there. I know C is already useless these days....that's why I'm really considering spending much money on Java with the hopes that I'll some Java related job

Just a little advice before you decide to go and start spending money for lessons, just make sure that your heart is really in it. That you are willing to put in time to really learn it. I've had similar ideas a few years ago. And when I realized that I really didn't have the will, and the time to put in the work, I just wasted my money. When you do decide, I hope you have a lot of luck! In learning it and getting the job you want afterwards.

even i am thinking of taking java classes. As i am an electronics student, so it would be helpful if i would have knowledge of computer languages too. And also i have very much interest in computers. Presently i know three computer languages. And in future, i will go for the Java examination conducted by Sun Microsystems.
