I love Indian food. When I lived in a large city, there was a little restaurant in the farmer's market where you could buy Indian takeout. I have a very good Indian cookbook, but since I live alone now, I don't do much cooking for myself. I really should get the book out and fix some of the simpler dishes. I really loved samosas, but they're too much work to fix for just me. Where I live now, there's no place to buy any ethnic foods except Chinese.

Samosas are too tasty. I too love to eat it. In fact, whenever we have a party in office or at home, we do buy samosas. Yes you are right. It is not worth making for one person as it needs elaborate work. But for a change, when you have time, you can make it. Potato bondas are also a bit similar to that with potato and onion stuffed inside. Taste when you can.

This idly, dosa batter is very handy for Indian ladies. Anytime, when some one is hungry, we can just make dosa or idly and serve.

I am happy you had the opportunity of tasting international cuisines. Chole Batura is a superb tiffin item. When we are hungry, it not only fills the stomach but also is too tasty to eat. Even I order for chola batura quite often. Here goes the image of chole and batura for you.

Even I order for Masala Dosa always. My husband also says, why not eat other items too. If chana batura is available, then I will order for it sometimes as there is time specification for chana batura.

Looks like your Avatar also likes Indian spicy chicken. Yes you are right. If you eat with chapathi, it will be very good.

I love gazar-ka-halwa. It is smelling nice even in Bangalore. keep some for me. Professorji must be having good time before lunch plate with your special items. It is said that the best way of winning over husband's heart is through stomach i.e. food.

Even I like Kheer a lot. If it is made out of milk maid (thickened milk with sweet) and nylon thin vermicelli, (semia), nothing like that.

Hi Buchiji
Right now i am in Hyderabad with my son, last evening i bought the best quality carrot from Relience fresh, Kalyani made 'gazar ka halwa', she added lot of khoa, which she made from 2 litres of milk, it was too sweet, too much sugar, in a hurry she forgot to make mine with 'sugar free' tablets
I ate two full plates, i know it will boost up my blood sugar level to 200 ha ha..
Thank you so much for this post.
Professor ‘Bhuwan’. .
Cheers have a lucky day ahead.

Yes, I eat it regularly here in Adelaide at Govinda's Restaurant run by the Hare Krishna people inside their temple. It is really good vegetarian food they usually make & they make it vegan one day a week (probably mainly for people like me!). They put on a huge smorgasbord & you can have all you can eat for just $8! You can stay there until closing time & just eat & eat until you roll out the door. The menu changes daily & some days the quality is better than other days.
It's really hard to pick a favourite item - I like it all! Even the little snacks we buy in the Indian Grocery Stores that are springing up everywhere down here. They use simple, cheap ingredients so that even fussy people like me cannot refuse to try them! They generally are gluten-free, vegan, don't have sugar & still taste really nice.
