which Is better, an ipad or a laptop computer?

My son wants to buy an ipad to manage his homework assignments etc. But I wonder if a laptop computer might be more ideal for him? He is a gadget freak and that is why I feel he may be veering towards an ipad to look flash! Please help

Both! If I am your son, I will choose both, but for your budget sake, laptop is the best to boost the learning of your son. You have to stick on your decision, not your son decision Miss Emma.

To type or not to type, that is the question! Plus do you eat or drink when working on computer. I like the idea of the ipad but I haven't actually seen one up close and I don't know how waterproof they are. But I can say that most laptop keyboards will survive a fair amount of coffee and chicken curry! Touch screens have yet to be tested.
