Why October is a 10th Month of the Year not 8th?

Why October is a 10th month of the year, not 8th month? Octo / octa means eigth ( 8 ) in a Latin word. Octopus have a 8 tentacles because of octo means eight. Octagon have eight sides also in a prefix octa... but october is 10th? can you help me why?

It used to be the 8th months in the Roman calendar before the Romans added July (for Julius Caesar) and August (for Augustus Caesar) to their calender :)

It used to be the 8th months in the Roman calendar before they (the Romans) added two more months. July (for Julius Caesar) and August (for Augustus Caesar) were added between June and September and September...
