Its that time of year again when soup is really in I make a lot of soup when the weather starts to get cooler but I also enjoy soup all year round it inexpensive to make and can feed a our family for a couple of days.
I like making Split Pea soup and Chicken Noodle those are two of my favorites to make in my crock pot I like slow cooking it I also like to make Chili and Cabbage Stew
What are some of the soups you enjoy be it cooking it eating it or both?

Hiya Cherry,
Just Chicken Soup will do fine thank you I love that with noodles as you call them or I call them too here they call them (Fideos).
I love split pea stew very much but cannot find those split peas here it´s like they have been exterminated, vanished off the face of the earth.
When I went back to England also I could only get Red Lentils and that was it. We were brought up on Split Pea Stew I had to make it before I went to School in the Mornings and we ate that for the Night time I loved it and I think without it I wonder where I would be now as it has so much goodness in it. Warming and very filling and for growing Children it´s a must.
Lentils are the nearest thing we have here to Split Peas so I use them often and I like to let the Lentils split and make it more consistent like Split Peas too and I add a little Shin of Beef and vegetables almost at the end.
I would personally eat it every Day but I can just hear those groans of "not again". Red Beans are my second Favourite I am doing those today not a typical Day of course but I am doing them yummy.

Hiya Cherry,
Now that sounds really good. I would eat it like that too as I like Curry and Cumin as well. But but these Men of my House do not care much for that. So I am being outvoted again (grin)
I´ve been outvoted all week it seems.

Hi Lovinanglesinstead
I just made split pea stew last night it turned out pretty good
I put some stewed tomatoes ,carrots, potatoes, onion, celery, and different spices to give it a slightly different flavor than the way I usually make it. I didn't add ham to it as we don't eat pork but it still tasted good none the less I added a little curry and cumin to it this time

Jacknicholas
I like cream of mushroom too
Sometimes I use it in cassaroles and even use it as a white grave sometimes for my mashed potatoes. I've never made homemade cream of mushroom before I think I'll try that in the near future I'm sure its pretty easy to make
